I don't suppose there's any chance that someone's syphening electric from you?

I live in a 1 bed flat, economy 7, and pay £46 a month for everything (I don't have gas). Admittedly again, I've become a bit of a miser (Sit in the dark, use energy efficient bulbs etc, and I don't have any teenagers living in the house, lol).

My, my what fun lives we do lead. ;) And  for doing so!
As per Scouselad's post I'm always gobsmacked by other people's view and handling of money. "These sandals only cost £50" or "we only had £1000 to spend on holiday."
I just wonder if they are covering up the real problems and pretending to themselves or am a really living in a parallel universe?

So that was the good today.... the bad today is my dad being rushed by ambulance to hospital at lunchtime fearing his was having his 6th heart attack.. early indications seem to show that he hasnt had one but that his stent is collapsing again.. what a day !!

My sympathies to you re: your Dad. Hope they can get him sorted.
I was just going to post again after my last message apologising for sounding so grumpy. My own cardiac problems have just kicked off again (I too have stents fitted.) After being well for 5 years I've recently had problems - waiting for an urgent appointment with the consultant.
Any extra worry is so dehabilating when you are struggling financially.
They say money doesn't make you happy but you can at least cross money worries off your list of being miserable! (Having to find extra for petrol and parking costs at hospitals etc is such a strain on a restricted budget.)
I do hope your Dad is doing well. I'm certain he will be looked after well and get the best treatment. I work for NHS and thank goodness it's available to us all when we need it.
Hope all goes well for you and your family.

Thank you. I have also posted on another thread.
We are now monitoring our consumption for two weeks then speaking to the customer support again. I thought £107 was quite a lot to start with but tbh I don't know what the average bill is. We live in an end of terrace 5 bed house. Anyway thanks for your support. Just got rid of the sick feeling in our stomachs and now its back again.
Just catching up on the thread while OH is out trying to buy our 15 year old (size 12 feet:eek:) a bargain pair of trainers. Really wanted to wait till pay day but his old ones are so bad they had to be put outside last night!!
    Thanks again

I live in a 3-bed semi that has storage heaters (5), electric fire in the front room that we use occassionaly and we have the immersion heater switched on all the time and we pay £90 per month for our electric. We dont have a tumble dryer or dishwasher though.

Well the letters are starting to drop through our letterbox, mainly automated ones but Barclaycard have frozen interest for 30 days whilst our DMP is set up, so thats a good start:)

Sorry to hear about your dad goingforward but best wishes for a speedy recovery

Also getting the automated letter from tesco and mint :( but neither of these were willing to freeze my interest while waiting for the DMP to kick in.

Good for you getting Barclaycard to freeze for the time being

Well done for getting interest suspended.:j
Unfortunately my creditors (Nat West Tesco & PO) not willing to suspend ours at the moment.
Is it worth writing personal letters to these people. We've been with Nat West for so long been good customers and never defaulted till now. Or do we just leave it to Pay Plan?
Also we've found out this week that Nat West manage Tesco which means that by far the main bulk of our enormous debt is with Nat West. Is that a negative?
    Thanks everyone

Well, CCCS have been in touch this week mainly to request info i'd forgotten to give :o oops... there's an awful lot to remember...

They have now emailed to say they've worked out our budget to be lower than we'd first put in (mainly as I'm on holiday hours till Sept 2nd!!) so our payment is now going to be £100 per mth (originally £198)
I'm really worried as it's stating it'll take 18yrs to clear the debts... (was originally 9yrs) that's without adding any of the interest/charges....:(
Ohhh are we doing the right thing?? *wobble*

Oh, while I think of it, can anyone tell me where to find template letters to request intrest/charges freezing etc, I've trawled the thread but with no luck..:(

Thoughts to you & yours Goingfwd.. x
