Hello again all, thanks for the helpful replies to my post yesterday, I've been on the phone to Payplan again today & I have a slight issue, they say that my payments according to my budget will be around £500 per month, which is about the same as I pay creditors at the moment anyway (excluding the payday loan which I have to pay off next payday in full anyway, meaning my DMP will have to wait another month & I'll have to send tokens to my creditors), I have had to move back in with my parents since getting in a mess & I'm desperate to move out before the relationship between me & them gets any worse! There is no way I can keep up with the DMP payments and move out, as I live in an area where it costs over £400pcm just for a single room & can't afford to commute any further for work. The lady at Payplan said we'll cross that bridge when we come to it and they have to work on my current situation.
Has anyone else started a DMP and then had an expensive change in circumstances and had their payments decreased? It felt as though she was telling me to move out and then do another budget but I'm sure that wasn't the case? Then I'd be even more up the creek!
  • Whoopee !! Got my first two letters since sending in CASHflow statement through the door today. Both from MBNA for two different accounts, one debt is huge, the other not quite so, but they have agreed to accept out offer of payment on both cards, freeze interest and no more charges !! I am so pelased. Now to sit tight and wait for the rest to answer !

Not yet for me MG, but in April I'm more than likely due for a 3.5 k a year salary drop and have been told so. But I'm not going to worry about it. I will reduce my DMP outgoings by 3.5k a year and recalculate the pro rata payments to suit. I don't think it is acceptable for you to have to suffer due to high housing costs in your area. Just pay what you can afford after all your essential out goings are sorted. Your creditors might throw their dummies out the pram for a while (as they do) but will probably calm down again after a while.Remember its only money and they can't have what you havent got.

I'm not sure, but am going to ring CCCS tomorrow and ask similar! As I did the budget for what we have right now, but we're now moving house and will drop £5 a month in rent, but also our childcare bills will increase from 1st March as I forgot my vouchers run out then. Currently it's all voucher paid, but we'll need at least £150pcm. Can't pull them out of childcare because I then wouldn't get them back in if I get work, which I'm still trying to find! So don't know whether we should re-budget to add that in somewhere now, or do token payments for this month and next month and then start the DMP in March with the new budget... or start with the surplus we have now and then change it in 2 months?!

Oh no....Mr BR sent off a letter to Capital One who had written saying that they couldn't do anything without his signature. My heart has just dropped - this was the wrong thing to do, I'm guessing.
Capital One are also the guys who have sent us a default notice, so perhaps the letters crossed over, but will this cause problems now he's sent the letter back?

I'm really sorry I didn't mean to freak anyone out, I just remembered reading on here not to sign anything, at least you've had a letter from them accepting your dmp, I haven't as of yet but we'll all get to where we want to be in the end.
