  • Well, have just rung the CCCS and spoke to a lovely woman (who was so nice she made me cry!!) and yes, it's basically just the standard 'you're not making your min payments so therefore you've defaulted' letter. She confirmed that really it's nothing to worry about and that if 9when) it goes to a DCA then actually it's easier to deal with.

At least you know now :) and i'd be expecting a few more of those lol, i have enough to paper the kids room with :D

I think future ones won't get to me in the same way, although if they're worded too differently, then I might worry again.
Still, so far, only two creditors have been in touch.

  • Hi Guys

Good to see people taking control of there debts and also those coming to the end and showing us that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

I have just started a DMP and need to open another bank account. I have been to natwest (who where really unhelpful) and HSBC. But they only do cashcards and I need an account with a debit card so I can use it online. I have read co-op is good, but can anyone recommend any others? Thanks

  • i have the co-op account and it's great! Instead of that being my main one though I paid off my smallest creditor (hsbc) and used the account i already had. I did go in though, explain i was on a dmp and didn't want the over draft anymore. they changed my account accordingly and i got my card through and it was a debit card? Not sure about any others though, but good luck :)

    Hi,

We're with Santander and that gives us a debit card. Obviously your options are limited according to who your creditors are - you do know that many of the banks are linked yes?

I was under the impression that Natwest have their 'step' account

So annoying that HSBC don't have a debit card, was sure they did! Could try the standard without Overdraft?

Hi, I'm in a DMP with Payplan and have been for 12 months. I owe approx £18,000 now between 6 creditors. One of them, Nationwide is applying to the court for a CCJ for the £2300 cc account. I returned admission forms (though the cc is from 1998 and they ignored my CCA request last month).

Not heard from court yet, I assume the hearing is anytime now. Nationwide wrote to me today to say they obliged to tell other creditors they applying for charging order and want one of the addresses (who happens to be my sister).

Aside from this, I thought a charging order was only issued after a CCJ and if you fail to make payments? Can someone clarify this?
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time

    Morning

Sorry you have this hassle. It sounds irregular. I'd call your DMP providor and the national debtline for advice.

    Good luck.

Hiya Squirrel, without supplying a CCA after 12 days + 2 and now coming close to over a month puts the account now in dispute. And with the added evidence that you have been paying your proposed payment on time every month for the past year will make Nationwide look rather avaricious in the eyes of the CC judge. If they want addresses tell them to find their own. A bit blase on the part of Nationwide to assume they will get an Instant charging order before a court hearing. Sounds like more pugnacious hot air from a creditor who considers its self as some kind of supreme being. Let 'em have their moment I bet you will have the last laugh.
