No, true, I mean he did hide it all from me for a while, then he'd tell me a bit, I;d panic and come on here, then it'd be ok again, and then I;d find out more, come on here...but this time it's all out in the open, and we're starting this DMP.
I guess it's going to be hard when I'm at home all day and they're be ringing here and yet I won;t be able to speak with them.
I suppose I'll just have to tell them they'd be better off writing to him, regardless of the fact that they won;t tell me who they are?Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568

If you want them to speak to you you can ask your OH to call them and put your name on the calling list thingy. I had to do this when DH was away working for ages, although they may have just made an allowance as otherwise they wouldn't have spoken to him for 6 months, but i doubt it? it's worth a try if you're home more and are happy to sort it outMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Hey guys
just wondered if anyone had had any thoughts on this yet? I really want to start payments so i don't lose steam and bury my head again (its happened so often)Hey
I posted a couple of weeks ago to say i was starting to sort everything out, well it took me a few days but i wrote letters to the companies offering a F and F settlement or £1 per month. Ive had 2 letters back accepting a pound a month payment and one letter asking to confirm my date of birth and previous address.
I have also had a letter from a previous council stating that they've checked their records and i don't owe them anything - i was very happy about that!
I havn't heard from anyone else though and wondered if anyone had any suggestions as what to do about it? I have seen that its recomended to pay them the token payments i have offered them until they contact me however how do i find out how to pay them? i hav'nt had any contact with them for a long time so i dont have any payment details for them?
Hope that makes sense have not long been up and a bit confudled!!!
Fairie
Thanks

Interesting.. We have just had our annual review and I mentioned this. I was told that we can decide if we want to settle one creditor ahead of another as long as when that creditor is settled, the monthly amount is increased (ie the money that would be paid to the paid up creditor is now divided amongst the rest of the existing creditors).LBM - Oct - 08 DMP Started - Feb -09

Hi all I thought I would give you all an update on our DMP. We were having real problems with the Halifax as both have CC and bank account. Anyway after several letters and making complaints over the telephone I am happy to report that they have refunded all interest/charges since starting DMP and my statements show 0.00 for interest due. Horray.
Next challenge is to try to reclaim bank charges from past 4 years as we were in hardship for this period and any payment will help to reduce the OD.
For all newbies dont give up and pick up the phone and stand your ground as the banks are able to help if they want to.
We have approx 10 creditors and all apart from Barclaycard who are charging 3per pa have stopped interest. Its such a relief to see the balance reducing.

When I spoke to CCCS recently about F&F, this was about a very small amount of money, they said that if we could get enough to try and pay off a couple of creditors that they could approach the companies for us with f&fs -this would have been our three smallest creditors. My thought was that they probably wouldn't negotiate as such and just accept whatever the creditor offered. I am a bit confused about it all too tbh.
Might be worth ringing them again.
I know I'm quoting myself - how vain :rotfl: but, I wanted to point this out to 2spicy and the others discussing this and say, isn't this all confusing. My understanding is similar to 2spicy's but I'm really not clear about it all.

:T Well done BevieB :T
Definitely worth picking up the phone and speaking to them about it all.
We have pretty similar - only Barclaycard is charging us nominal %, on one of the cards, although on the other two it isn't. Hey ho.
Good luck with the charges claim.

Further to my last post about the telephone being relatively quiet.
Scrub that, OPUS have started a call bombardment campaign. 5 times at home last night, 4 times at work yesterday and twice today already. I have told them I have written to them regarding my situation and have been rather pleasant in my attitude and so far been as calm as a Hindu cow. I have asked to have the work number removed from their records but it appears that due to cloth ears it has not sunk in yet. So a standard harassment letter and copies of my CFS and wot not have been posted today. All 7 other creditors so far have been reasonable and understanding, Blair ,oliver and scott in fact have been the nicest to deal with.
They have phoned again in the last 10 mins, just after I got a call from the garage telling me its going to cost £390 to replace the broken clutch in my car. Subsequently the OPUS puppet caught me just as i was going up like a bottle of pop. Suppose I can expect a total Blitzkrieg by phone now until the harassment letter arrives. Hey Ho.:mad:There are better things in life than worrying about money…like nailing a jelly to a tree for example.0
