    Evening all...

I'm so bloody stressed i cant think straight lol... my dad is having chest pains again (already had 6 heart attacks and this time last yr he spent 6 weeks in a coma with mutliple organ failure so thats kind of praying on my mind).. car broken, the list is endless lol.

And (does anyone else feel like this) i feel so guilty about going on a DMP... I keep telling myself doing a DMP means the creditors will get back every penny we owe them and a lot quicker than they would otherwise have done but i just feel we are doing something wrong.

You and your family come first, you plan to repay the money which is what counts and if it means delaying for one more month so be it!
You're doing the very best you can, no one can ask any more than that;)

Thanks for the reply HH, thats the only thing worrying me, debt collectors at the door because i am only making small payments through DMP. Thanks again will sit tight now with fingers, arms and legs crossed!!

Don't worry too much about this. I am only making piffling repayments because my income is very restricted. Keep paying regularly and showing your intent to honour your debts.
Highly unlikely you will have Debt Collectors hassling you. Has to go to Court first. As long as you are showing you are honouring your commitments and repaying what is reasonable to your budget , all should be well. :)

new question... if we do undertake a DMP, what happens when we need to renew car/truck insurance?? There is no way we can afford it without it being monthly.... as it's "credit" will we be allowed? I'm very concerned about this as it would instantly stop us from earning!
Although it's 'credit', I would have thought it would be ok, because if you don't pay it, you don't get insurance!!

My worry is that they will try to up the insurance premium because we may be a risk??

Shouldn't make a difference, from what I remember, PayPlan offer car insurance through a third party, and you can pay monthly through them!

    Evening all...

Ok my plan was to make token payments to my creditors for next month (and to the 2 i havent paid this month) and then make my first payment to CCCS on the 1st Sept but my car has decided to die (yesterday on my sons birthday great timing lol). Problem is its not worth much yet its quite rare so parts are hard to find and expensive . I cant afford a new car so will have to repair this one at a cost of about £350.

Anyway will it pee my creditors (and the cccs) off if i again make token payments in Sept and start the DMP on the 1st October?

I'm so bloody stressed i cant think straight lol... my dad is having chest pains again (already had 6 heart attacks and this time last yr he spent 6 weeks in a coma with mutliple organ failure so thats kind of praying on my mind).. car broken, the list is endless lol.

Bless you but you ain't doing nothing wrong!
This is just the kind of cr*p that a DMP throws in your face.
Phone CCCS and explain the circumstances. Make sure you pay the token payments to your creditors and hopefully set up the start of your DMP for Oct.
You have enough stress and worry in your life to deal with. Family should always come first.
My good wishes to you and your Dad. I too have had a heart attack (can't begin to imagine six!) so I know what it is like to wired up to all those monitors and the fear it causes to yourself and all the family.
Best wishes to you and your family.

Thankyou... re my dad he has been a diabetic for 53 years now and its taken his toll one his body.. his 1st 2 heart attacks were 3 yrs apart, then he had 3 last year in the 6 weeks he was in hospital 2 prior to the coma and 1 the day he was due to be discharged, then another one about 4 mths ago. We know he is on borrowed time and i remember last Aug saying everything he went thru would be worth it for another yr with him, but now that yrs nearly up.

I think i will ring the CCCS tomorrow and explain about the car and see about starting on the 1st Oct. If we dont have a car my oh cant travel to and from work so then the creditors will get nothing.

Never had any problems with these routine 'direct debit' sort of payments. As long as you keep paying your necessary day to day bills and take the squeeze in your 'extra money' you should be OK.
