Hmm, well, if I find out more I'll report back - as is noted, it seems to be a very involved and protracted process and if someone else could be managing this / leading it, I might be tempted!

    SAAC

Cross my palm with silver SAAC and I'm all yours :D:D:D
Gnashing of teeth at moment - have just made 2 separate very, lengthy phone calls to last creditor at expensive, peak time asking where final letter is? (Promised it would be sent nearly 3 weeks ago.)
Apparently my account is showing my payment but continues open and has a large outstanding balance still :(
They will send immediately blah-de-blah. Honestly, they are as artful as wagon load of monkeys!

And a snippet to give you guidance - all have settled around 50% but it's been a long, hard slog.

  • hello im back again for yet more advice! as some of you probably know DMP with cccs is int he throws of being set up. I had a phone call today froom simply be ( i owe £150) i thought best to answer it rather than ignore it and explain to them about cccs and tell them i sent the relelvent letter and token payment. Anyhoo the man ont he phone basically said it was pathetic including such a minor debt into my dmp because my mionimum payments are only £10 anyway. thing is i assumed that once getting help from cccs that i was to include all our debts no matter how big or small which i have done.
  • I was also told all debts must be included Fred and had similar comments from a horrible rude person belonging to Kays Catalogue. I suspect they use this as a way to get you to pay them - probably the collections departments have targets to meet. They have gone on to accept the pound a month though from Payplan for the 110 pund debt I have with them.
LBM August 2011. DFD somewhere post [STRIKE]2025[/STRIKE]2022
Total debts October 2011 circa GBP 17,700 September 2018 GBP 0 DMP with Payplan
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger:T:D:D:D
  • Hey Fred, don't worry, they're wrong and you're right. All the debts have to be included. For us this also meant that a few relatively small debts had to go in. Don't worry, just focus on getting everything in place and set up. Our smallest ones have ended up getting £5 pm for the past year.

I had a similar experience with a similar amount and creditor. They were quite rude and I hung up. I eventually accepted a 50% F&F from them.

Small debts are always the worst, but they need including nonetheless!

  • Good Morning, just bobbing in to say hello, still reading every day (ish) but nothing new to report, ploughing away at the DMP, one debt now with BOS , and hoping that the accept the DMP and it settles down..can't believe it's christmas in just over a month, been buying a few small things each week ready.
  • Has anyone experience of opening Co-Op account on-line, applied last Friday and have heard nothing, and of course we are getting closer and closer to cut-off date for changing bank acc details with work :(

I have been looking and looking at the figures.....................for someone who has never been able to have the luxury of budgeting because I have always had the issue having to pay bills and juggle every penny and of course, the hassle of every extra like electric or oil bill then becoming a major problem to pay, there seems to be a glut of money now available on this new budget..................how have others found it?

Husband got offered NAtionwide Account today with cash card only! That's going to make it hard because it is his business account - but am I right in thinking that he can make payments via internet banking instead of using cheques?
  • Thanks guys i know im probably a pain in the bum with all these question but this whole debt thing is a minefield and want to make sure im getting it right :)

Somewhere - I know exactly what you mean were due for our first dmp payment to go out on the 1st of dec hubby gets paid 20th i get paid last day of month so i worked out a budget and tbh i have no idea how we have been living - oh wait yes i do it wasnt actually our money lol I's nice to know we have a set amount each week to cover everything and most of all all the house hold bill are getting paid which i was a bit of a !!!!!! for thinking that they were less important than my debt ( took a while but the LBM finally happened) . As for the co-op we went in brach to set up and recieved our welcome pack about a week later, cashpoint cards and pins arrived a couple of days after that.
  • I have now applied for Co-Op business account - I don't want an o/d I just want chq's otherwise how do we pay any of our suppliers! Hopefully this works out. It shows how carp his credit rating is that Nationwide won't give his a chq book but I also looked at the T&C's and you are not allowed to use the account for business :(

Fred - did you just go for a cashminder account with co-op, I think I went for the online app which is slightly more of upgrade not that I want anything other than a debit card.
  • yeah we just got a cashminder basic account so that our wages can go in a direct debits/standing orders can go out!
