Been trying to tackle one of my creditors this morning, should be working but Schhhh!!!

Anyways capitol One sent me a nice letter lat night a Default Notice with Court Action mentioned several times. Normally i would have hit the roof but after reading the threads here i knew what to expect and do.
I contacted them direct this morning, no moaning being nasty just very very polite i was. Apparently they are still charging me interest because they havent received my Income and Expediture form CCCS sent at the beginning of the plan. CCCS said they had defintely sent it but will send again. Cap One also tried to say i hadnt made any payments but i had all the figures in front of me so she back tracked and said oh yes i can see now. Hopefully i will now get Cap One to stop my interest as at the moment im paying them £42 month and theya re charging me £90.
Rule NUmber one Always Always contact your creditors do not be afraid of them make them afraid of you it works i am now in control.

  • Afternoon all...well it seems LLOyds TSB and MBNA have totally ignored my DMP..despite all of them receiving payments..LLOYDS TSB have continued to charge, interest, late payment fees and unauthorised overdraft fees on all my accounts. Today I received my first default notice from LLoyds TSB for my CC card..with the usual blurb about paying the full amount owing on the CC within 14 days or else court action...blah blah..the letter is headed SCM solititors but if I ring the number on the letter, it is in fact just LLOyds TSB collections dept, based on Mars, which does not accept or understand that I am on a DMP and merely informed me I would face court action, sigh,

  • I have emailed payplan to advise I have been defaulted and also that LLOYDS TSB are threatening court action, also they are charging £100 a month in charges on my current acc, asking for advice on further course of action and also to clarify if they have accepted the DMP. They replied telling me to pay off my overdraft!!

    Hi everyone,
I have just found this forum and this is my first ever post!
Anyway, I am in serious debt, the worst part is that I have ingnored everything and everyone for about 6 months.....stupid stupid I know.
Anyway, I owe money to loads of creditors, probably 20, maybe more (stupid payday loans).
My question is, CCCS, Payplan, or other?
I really want to get sorted, I lost my job, now have a temporary one, my other job has gone into consultation, however I want to start to do something now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

    Hello to you :)
Welcome to the first step on the long road to recovery and your financial health!
CCCS/Payplan are much the same. They apportion the repayments to your creditors in slighty different ways but at the end of the day, they are working on your behalf without extra payment.
Lots of fee-paying companies will tout for your business - but my personal opinion is you're better putting that money towards paying off your debt.
Your confidence will grown as you learn, and become more pro-active with your creditors yourself.
You've got unmanageable debts but are facing up to them? So, not stupid at all then are you? :)

    Evening all,
Just got back from the E-Bay funded jolly holiday!
(A few nights in a caravan on a wild, rainy and windswept bit of the British coastline :( :()
Never mind-glad to have a break at all when on a DMP. (Sun £38-00 deal :T)
Just had a quick skim through messages-will try and catch up soon.
However, I was a bit perturbed to see this new 'sticker' that's appeared for a couple of newbies. Apparently they haven't received the best or most respectful of replies. :o
Can't believe that would be from this thread. Yes, maybe those questions have been asked before; yes, if you read/post on here regularly you'll feel the same apprehension/fear from folk.
But you've been there yourself, just cast your mind back to how it all felt for you. :(
I always think this thread is one of the most helpful and friendly on the MSE site - long may it be so! :)
And I now have a new ambition and goal for after DMP (Ooooh!)-a fortnight on a warm, sun-kissed Greek island :D

Hi everyone! How's everyone doing? Hope you're all managing okay and looking forward to the weekend.

Just wanted to give a quick update on me. Well got my first letter back today from MBNA to say that they've accept the payment offer from CCCS and also they have stopped all interest!! Whoop whoop! :T Just got another 9 creditors to go :( Hoping that they will all come around to the zero interest. My first payment goes out to all creditors at the beginning on June so here we go......

On another note, I've surprised myself how money savvy I have become since starting the DMP. I keep a log on my iphone of all expediture, I'm shopping around more for deals (have just reduced my home insurance) and am also having a mass clear out this weekend so that I can put items on Ebay as it's zero listings weekend!! :j

June is going to be a real tough one to get through as I have so many events coming up...hubbys birthday, brother in laws birthday, kids (twins) birthday and my wedding anniversary! Got to make sure I budget well next month.

Anyway, that's it from me. Hope you all have a brill weekend and keep your heads up :)

    Hi

I am just starting on a DMP with PP, one of my creditors are MBNA. I am awaiting a reply from them. For how long have they agreed to stop your interest for?

    Thanks

    Quick update

Just wrote a letter to all my creditors informing them that they will be receiving a reduced payment this month from CCCS as I have had some unforeseen expenditure. I have detailed the expenditure incurred. I have asked them not to re-instate interest. So I will have to wait and see what comes back if anything.

Whilst I did not want to contact them I thought just out of courtesy I should and CCCS said it would be a good idea so thats the reason behind it.

Hope everyone has a relaxing creditor free weekend (CFW).

Hahaha!! I just hate all that 'Americanised' spelling of everything we have to endure nowadays - showing my advanced years, I know!

However, I was totally joking about holding the fort, as if!!:rotfl:

    Have a great weekend, everyone
