Ahh need a rant!
Got a text from Santander at work today asking me to ring them, so I rang them once I'd got to the right person etc etc I found out it was about the arrears on my credit card account. I explained I was on a DMP with CCCS, the (very nice lady) said have we written to you accepting this, I said they hadn't written to me to be told that they havn't accepted the plan and could I pay the arrears. I explained I couldn't and if I could I wouldn't be in this position etc etc. I did (perhaps rather pointedly) explain that they had continued to accept the payments I'd been making and after going round in circles for a bit the nice lady said she'd put a hold on the account for forty days while I spoke to CCCS and that they may be able to refund any charges!
Rang CCCS and they are going to re send the paperwork but said they would probably carry on accepting the payments then sell it on to a debt collection agency (wish they'd hurry up!)
Anyone else had this, bit confused particularly as my santander owned asda card has accepted and stopped the interest
I've had hassle from Santander since March but thankfully its now sorted. CCCS had to send info 3 times before they said they'd received it. CCCS actually sent it whilst I was on the phone so I could give a time for this. I also had to fax a copy of my i/e form. They also tried to get me to make a payment and provide work and mobile no. I didn't find them very pleasant but as of this week they've accepted the DMP and stopped interest and charges. CCCs did say that a lot of people were having trouble with Santander at the moment and they thought they were just trying to be awkward. Hope this helps.0 -
HI Everyone. Just wanted to pop in and say hi to all the newbies!
Everything very quiet on my dmp front, and all looks good to still be finished in March next year. If anything, our massive, pain in the bum Lloyds one will be, as no charges or interest are being added at all anymore. Yay!!DFD February 2012

Hi All trust all is well
Been on DMP now since january interest from all 4 creditors stopped 2 monts ago but paying below the minimum payments has knocked me over my credit limit on 2 cards so the debt actually went up it seems to be now levelling off.
Have already uped my payments to CCCS from £221 to £245 and next review next March, although i hope to increase it again in a few months time. Not using credit deffo makes you spend more wiseley. Have been selling loads of household items on Ebay and have started a savings account which i am putting a regular amount in each payday. This i hope will help laters to make creditors an offer to pay off the loans. Also decided to have a piggy bank where i put all my loose coppers and 5ps they really weigh down your wallett and when full will take to building society.
Have also set my self a goal, I would like to buy a classic Beetle Convertible some day so thats my incentive.
Anyone else got any good money saving making tips.
Anyway must dash highly recommend DMP all thanks to you guys here.
love ya all

Well, I had hoped to be under the £50k mark by last month, but forgot about the insurance payments (duh!). We started in Oct 2009 with a total horror of £68,732.31!!!!! but am now very pleased to report our 'new improved' total is £49,111.12! Getting under the £50k mark is such a milestone for us. It seems a little less daunting now , one day we may even get there!
I can't even bear to think what that £19,621 would have bought, but the peace of mind is priceless.
Had quite a few hiccups but so far, so good, let's all keep moving!

Just checked my balances from my 4 credit cards 3 im pleased to say have fully taken on board my predicament and have halted all interest, unfortuntely Capitol One ive noticed havent.
I am currently paying £42 a month on a £6200 debt with them so they think its clever to charge me interest on the amount and late payment charge and because i have been on aDMP it has taken me over my limit so i am being charged for that too. Any advise please a currently i am paying £42 off each month and theya re adding £35 approx. Help:mad:January 2011 £24,000 Debt

Hi everyone,
I have just found this forum and this is my first ever post!
Anyway, I am in serious debt, the worst part is that I have ingnored everything and everyone for about 6 months.....stupid stupid I know.
Anyway, I owe money to loads of creditors, probably 20, maybe more (stupid payday loans).
My question is, CCCS, Payplan, or other?
I really want to get sorted, I lost my job, now have a temporary one, my other job has gone into consultation, however I want to start to do something now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!0 -

My advice is to sit tight, you always get charges at the start, so the debt seems to go right up. As you aren't paying an amount close to what you would normally, they may well hand the debt over to an agency sooner than later, who would stop interest, so just keep calm and bide your time, I think.

I think the best thing is to sit down, work out exactly what you owe to who, and check out Payplan or CCCS online questionnaires, or perhaps call them directly and ask for advice.
At least you know the sooner you start, the better, I'm sure others will be along with more useful advice, I called Payplan when I read about them online.

Thanks for the speedy reply! I went through the CCCS questionaire and even received the plan and letters saying how much I would need to pay, DD mandate etc....then lost my job and everything changed and I went back into Ostrich mode.
What made me not go through with it, was actually finding the letters from the creditors, after shoving them (unopened) down the side of the microwave and then into a black bin bag, the thought made me want to cry, however CCCS obviously needed them and proof of my income.
Anyway, I know I am going to have to take the bull by the horns and just do it......I've read back a bit further on this thread and Payplan and CCCS seem to be aboue the same, so I think I'll give CCCS another try...thanks again.0
