    Hi Everyone

Bad day for Preditors I am looking to reduce my monthly DMP payment to my preditors by £120 per month approx a 18% reduction. I am not sure how the preditors will take this but this is due to an increase in fuel, food, heating, car insurance to name a few. But to survive I need to reduce the DMP.

I am aware that my DFD will be pushed further back but i plan to put some money away each month and then hopefully go down the F & F route which will release some funds to offer to my bigger creditors this will in turn reduce my DFD. Whilst CCCS may not approve of this method its the route I am taking. Also Barclaycard reinstate interest after a 6 month period so thats another reason to reduce my payment to them.

NEXT Directory have handed my debt of approx £200 to a DCA and I will be offering them sometime in the future an F & F of £50

Not getting statements from all my preditors so I have wrote to these preditors requesting them.

Surprisingly I feel guilty towards some preditors as they have been sympathetic to my cause but I need to survive. Apparently CCCS have been inundated with people requesting reviews.

So whilst a reduction is not the best route their is method in my madness.

Mikon, you have to be able to live at a reasonable level and you have to do what's best for you and your family - and if the preditors don't like it well tough!

    Hi Guys

Hope newbies and oldies are well. I haven't posted for a while or updated my signature but life has been hectic. I have been following the thread each day though. In regard to my signature so close to "being in the 20ks" didn't want to uPdate until then so hopefully next month.

I have been in the fortunate position to be able to increase my Dmp payment again by 10% as I have paid off a family loan. As a result have also been able to offer a f&f to my lowest debt at 50% but they want 75% which I can't afford so will write back and say this and see what happens. Wasn't happy with the letter wording either so will also mention this.

Definitly better than last time though because at least it was acknowledged!

For all those startin out keep with it? The Dmp works even when a debt starts getting interest added because you're not officially in financially difficulty any more, you know who you are nasty preditor!

Every now and again I have a think about what I shall do and the family is still what I want but going to indulge in a trip to Vegas first with :Apartner and you never now may end up with a sprog called Nevada:rotfl:

DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING FROM YOUR CREDITORS You have signed documents with CCCS authorising them to act on your behalf and Cap 1 should be dealing with them directly. Creditors that refuse to work with a 3rd party are breaching the Lending Code and the law.

One of the reasons they want your signature is that they may copy it onto a Credit Agreement to enforce it.

I cannot emphasise enough not to sign anything, just keep making the payment to them via CCCS.

I hope this has answered your question. Look through some of my previous posts for further advice.

    Ahh need a rant!

Got a text from Santander at work today asking me to ring them, so I rang them once I'd got to the right person etc etc I found out it was about the arrears on my credit card account. I explained I was on a DMP with CCCS, the (very nice lady) said have we written to you accepting this, I said they hadn't written to me to be told that they havn't accepted the plan and could I pay the arrears. I explained I couldn't and if I could I wouldn't be in this position etc etc. I did (perhaps rather pointedly) explain that they had continued to accept the payments I'd been making and after going round in circles for a bit the nice lady said she'd put a hold on the account for forty days while I spoke to CCCS and that they may be able to refund any charges!

Rang CCCS and they are going to re send the paperwork but said they would probably carry on accepting the payments then sell it on to a debt collection agency (wish they'd hurry up!)

Anyone else had this, bit confused particularly as my santander owned asda card has accepted and stopped the interest

Are you still with Payplan now? The majority of people on this thread seem to be with CCCS and as I am still in the setting up stages, I'm not sure who is best! How are Payplan for you, other than being a bit rubbish at calling at the right time?

Hello again, CB, we have a friend who is with CCCS, and as far as I can tell, they ask for bank statements, PP don't. Earlier last year when OH had some overtime, that was an important thing for us, as we were able to replace our washing machine and tumble dryer, without worrying that they were going to oversee our money!
My view is, ok, PP have sold us the basic life insurance, but frankly, if anything happened to either if us while this is going on, the last thing we would want is this debt to be inherited. There is just enough to pay off the house, never mind bury either of us! On that cheerful note...:)

It is confusing, isn't it? Well done you for not giving them any money. At least she said they would put the account on hold.
Perhaps not a completely pressured call to force you to pay up, we have heard a lot worse tactics! Easy said, but try not to worry.

Hi. I just wanted to say that when I joined with CCCS they wanted proof on my income, which could either be bank statements or payslips. Not sure what they request at the year review though...

Turned out I didn't have enough free income for Payplan, plus they kept on calling me at times I specifically told them not to so I'm starting again with CCCS! Just waiting for my payslip to send off to them and then I'll be up and away :) Thanks to you (and everyone else who replied!) for the advice though.
