    Hi all,

Just noticed this thread, I'm not in a huge amount of debt, but enough to make sure I have no money at the end of the month even after robbing Peter to pay Paul!! I have spoken to CCCS this morning and they are sending me out a the relevant paperwork to start a DMP. I just wondered what to expect really. How many bank statements do they ask for, and what proof of debts? I just want to get it filled out and sent back as soon as possible and want to get everything ready to send off.

    Many thanks in advance Emma:)

    Hi and welcome

I agree with Ian. I have just checked my CCCS file, I had to send latest statements and last wage slip.

    Hope that helps

What an inspiration you are one of the very few people I have encountered on this forum who have achieved the end goal. Well done. I have many years to go but its nice to read that people do complete DMPs.

You should write of the forum about your experiences so we know what is ahead.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

    teecee152 - congratulations! :j:beer: :j
I sometimes wonder about all those who came before us on the DMP Mutual Support Group. I have been a regular reader/poster now for about 2 years, so it's grand to hear from a founder member.
Like you Mikon I agree it's not often we get to hear of those who have finished their DMP.
Jilly O Jolly I seem to recall also 'escaped' from our happy band.
You always have an affinity for the people from about the time you joined. In my case, Scouselad and The Tooth Fairy still keep in touch and post.
And for those of us who have been around a while who can forget Cocker or Eupho? :D:D:D
To all new to this DMP business - it's often been said but keep posting. We're all busy but just a few moments to update and keep in touch is brill :)
It sometimes feels a bit frustrating when you see the members list and all those who joined and then disappear without leaving a trace...........

    Hi Guys,
We are coping well wit our DMP through CCCS although sometimes its a little frustrating with the lack of real feedback from them. I am after a bit of advice, When i got married my wife and i set up a joint account, i kept my own bank account dormant with a £500 agreed overdraft limit although only owed £200. When i set up my DMP i made sure all of my direct debits and standing orders were closed down and set a new account up with Barclays. I did however forget to tell CCCS about my £200 overdraft. About a month ago i got a really aggressive phone call from HSBC explaining i had defaulted on my flexiloan payments and they wanted immediate payment of £800. i explained they had agreed to enter into a DMP ith me on my flexiloan (in fact i had to go to my local branch twice as they would not except my signatures) and they were accepting payments from me, i also explained i had no direct debit set up with them and that my overdraft was only £500 it turns out they have been taking payments from my account and bouncing them and charging me for being over my overdraft and for bouncing the payment to themselves!!! They have now sent me a Final demand letter threatening court action and bailiffs. What should i do. I have told CCCS and they have added the account to my DMP, but they don't have any advice for me. Its getting me down i have a wife and two young children who i don't want to be harassed by 'heavies' can they even come round to my house for an unsecured debt? How should i handle this as if i pay anything off the HSBC account they will start taking more payments again until the loan is satisfied!!!!

    HELP PLEASE!!!

Just at the beginning of my DMP with the help of Payplan - was a bit daunted by the complexities of opening new bank account and getting income and outgoings on it, but have got that done successfully. Sent out my letters and SOA and waited for the phone to ring...nothing happened for a month, then got a standard letter from Halifax, re-sent letter and SOA and tonight got a phone call - i was braced to "stand my ground" and the Halifax person was lovely! Agreed without an argument to my token amount, said I'd get a letter confirming the agreement and that i was doing the right thing in the circumstances! What a relief, but i wouldn't have had any idea how to go about it without everyone on here, so thanks everyone.

I wish i had goes through payplan, at least by the sounds of it i could control when the letters were sent. Its so frustrating. My problem above is just the icing on the cake, i just don't know who to speak to for advice.

    Quick question:

Is anyone with OPUS previously CITI. The reason I ask is I am wanting to know if you still receive monthly statements from OPUS? I received regular monthly statements from CITI but since they were taken over by OPUS I have not had one statement anyone had similar experience?

    Thanks

Unlikely that it will go to court for £800 (might though so be prepared) - You are under no obligation to let debt collectors into your property (unlikely to get that far either) keep paying via DMP and hopefully it will settle down. Baliffs can only be appointed by the court, this would only happen if you defaulted on any court appointed payments (ie they got a CCJ/charging order) - yes the path can be rocky but you will not get baliffs at your door unless you default on court action.

That's a good post, it just goes to show what you can do when you're pro active and it really helps any Newbies out there. I remember the day I had to do all that as well, I must have put away at least 30 coffees! But we get there in the end, and now all the hard work is done, it is easier to field any calls, letters, etc, when you have PP or CCCS on your side. Well done!

Can I add my congratulations to TeeCee152 as well, Brilliant!!:T
