Thanks for the welcome and advice :)

Just a question for anyone that has a DMP with Payplan. I gave all of my income and expenditure information and full details of my creditors/balances etc over the phone.

Do i need to send any payslips/statements etc into them once i get the pack through. I know i need to complete the letter of authority but just want to be ready if i need to send in anything else.

Wishing the sickness feeling would subside :(

    Thanks

Umm, I can't remember it was so long ago, and like everyone else, I was in a bit of a daze in the beginning. I seem to remember sending payslips and up to date statements by post, the latter by e-mail too, along with any loan or credit agreement letters. It will tell you in the welcome pack, but I guess it can't harm getting your latest statements etc together just in case.

So we've called the CCCS and asked for more letters to be sent out, they said they would...so I will call the creditors next week to see if they have received them. They have also been paying, in error, money to the santander O/D that we have paid, closed the account ,....so we need to go to town and see what is happening there because that money could be getting our other debts down!

So pretty positive...just a case of waiting around now to see what happens!

Has anyone else had problems with the CCCS not sending out letters at the beginnning of a DMP....or could this be a case of the letters getting mislaid at the other end (creditors end) ...because of this I have several defaults & lots of extra charges now :(!

Thanks for everyone's kind words on here though I really was flapping about this the other day and you all put my mind at ease, so nice to come on here and see that other people are/have been through the same :)

    DFW xx

Remember it's not the end of the world getting defaults. More of a good thing when on a DMP.

Also with letters from CCCS, a lot of the time it took around 3 or 4 times of PayPlan sending/faxing letters for the creditor in question to get the idea...

Thanks for your responses on my question - CCCS have said that I shouldn't make any payments as this months payment will count as May's payment, regardless of whether it is late or not.

Guess I'll get a bit of grief from Santander but hey ho.

This is the first month I'm not making any minimum payments and it does feel less stressful and more organised. Would like to fast forward 6 months though to the calm after the storm!

    Hi All

Letter sent to Moorcroft outlining my financial situation and informing them that I am DMP and that CCCS are authorised to deal with my financial affairs and therefore they need to be dealing with CCCS directly failure to do so contravenes the Lending Code and OFT Debt Collection Guidance.

Also enclosed £1 and requested copy of original credit agreement and a statement detailing payments to date.

Highlighted that I am in dispute with creditor regarding the outstanding balance.

Pointed out that I had received letter from creditor a week ago agreeing to a further 3 month payment plan.

I have also included the template for door step visits advising them not to visit my property as they will be breaking the law and that if they wish to visit then they need to make an appointment I have no intention of making such an appointment.

I have informed them that I will continue to pay to them what I paid to the creditor via my DMP.

I have asked them to respond in 12 working days in accordance with the CCA.

Now its wait and see. I have laid my cards on the table lets see what comes back.

    Hi Guys

Well Mo*rcroft have replied to my letter stating they are putting my account on hold whilst they talk with my creditor their client and investigate the points raised. Failed to provide any documents I requested.

Next dilemma is who do I pay my next DMP payment to Mo*rcroft or Next?

    Another letter me thinks.

    Anyone had similar experience.

HI guys - hope everyone has a lovely long weekend free from harassment (as if :p)

I came back from a lovely visit to see my new niece (too cute) to a car insurance renewal that is more than double last years  Have managed to find a slightly cheaper quote - but still a few hundred higher than last year, I feel these insurance companies are taking the !!!! - especially as this one wants 2 months up front - money I really don't have.

Sigh, I knew it was going too well. :(

Could it be wine o'clock?

    Hi CommitedToChange

I renewed my car insurance recently and encountered a similar problem 2 months in advance. I phoned the company up and explained that i wanted their insurance but could not afford the upfront payment as I was currently encountering some financial difficulties. They allowed me to pay monthly and pro rata the payments which helped me
    a little.

Hope this has helped I went with AXA got quote off one of the comparison sites. The alternative is to reduce your DMP payment for one month to cover the additional expenditure.

I have also contacted Virgin Media and they reduced my monthly payment but i retained the same services i saved £30 per month from them.

    Good luck

Thanks - I'll try giving them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

Urk Virgin - I'm having murder with them at the moment - trying to get my DD set back up after changing bank accounts but they won't set one up when you have an outstanding balance - which due to the way they bill is really hard to do  Think I may have sorted it today - we will see.

    Hello and Welcome,

We started with Payplan in Sept 2009, and as I recall they didn't ask for any payslips or bank statements at all, but a friend of ours is with CCCS and they do. We just had to be ready with the up to date balances at the time.

Also, can I flag up to anyone with Nationwide (I know some of us are avoiding the big boys with our current a/cs!) I had a really convincing email (apart from one really obvious spelling mistake) from "Nationwide" earlier, claiming that they were freezing my internet a/c, spending, etc, until I emailed them back (you know the rest, ha ha) so I used the secure internet banking email thingy on the Nationwide site, and they said to forward anything like this to phishing@nationwide.co.uk thought I would pass this on, just in case it worries anyone. Beggars sent it on my birthday a few days ago as well, I think just to worry me more!
    Hope everyone is doing well,

I agree with you HH. CCCS are brilliant but it's your money, your debt, so be pro-active with your creditors.
debtfreewannabe321 - Often creditors will state letters are received in the 'wrong' office, by the 'wrong person', 'not received' or received 'too late.' This is usual at the start of a DMP. Just send 'em again recorded (so you have proof)

    'Twitty'
Yes, how many times have we all received letters that would make your Granny cry, and when you get up the courage to call, get told it's 'computer generated', or even worse, 'I don't know why that was sent'.
Some of it beggars belief, these companies are like a big money grabbing monster, where the lunatics are really in charge of the Asylum!
