Hi
With some creditors the first you will know of their acceptance is when you receive your statement showing next months estimated interest set to 0%.
Keep an eye on Halifax as they will require an update on your situation usually after 6 months, I tend to update them in month 5.DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
Hey all :hello:
My name's Lou and I've recently contacted CCCS to start on a DMP. Filled in my paperwork and the direct debit mandate today, posting it all off tomorrow.
I'm nearly £6000 in debt and it's been really worrying me. I've been awake at 5am most mornings worrying, leaving me shattered the rest of the day. Plus the sick feeling in my tummy from worrying is driving me nuts! After much deliberation, I decided to go for the DMP.
Thought I would post here to introduce myself, would love to be a regular contributor to this threadfeeling so much more positive just from getting all my paperwork in order and for getting things sorted!

Welcome ladybird17 and good luck with your DMP. Taking that initial decision is the first step forward to getting rid of that worry and sickness. We've all been there and once everything is settled you'll feel much happier. Don't be afraid to talk to your creditors on the phone. As Ian will vouch they are usually ok once you say you're on a DMP.
Any worries, post on here and you'll get loads of support:)DeeBee0 -
Hi DMB thanks for the reply
everyone on these boards has been fantastic with any queries I've had in the run up to my decision and I feel as though I'm making a hugely positive step.
Thanks for the welcome :j0 -

Hello to all the newbies. Hope you have a smooth DMP set up.
I've just made my 12th DMP payment, signature changed and trying to celebrate one yr anniversary reached and 1/4 of the way through. Think I have decided to keep plodding on and not to go down the UE route. I will be quickly reversing that decision though if the more preditors start reapplying interest.
Thank you so much to you all for the support through the highs and lows and the general social things inbetween.
Have a good day all.

Hello
Has anyone managed to get their interest frozen on LLoyds TSB CC accounts. I am writing to them today as my debt just seems to be increasing on these and going down on the rest. Cheers all.Debt Free No. 403
DFD:- Long way to go but going down at last.:)0 -
I do not know why they act like this. No other company seems as bad as them. Their website makes me laugh, promising to help if you get in trouble.
I am just worried I have got myself stuck now I sent that letter promising payment. What could I say to them. Mind you, does it make any difference - they don't listen.
Thing is we are just treading water as we getting injury compensation which could pay off all debts, so I was thinking it may be worth putting up with the wrath of Nationwide until the money comes through by Nov at latest
I wouldn't pay them the arrears, not sure how you tell them though.
You could explain you're on the DMP, and that you can't afford anything other than what you're currently paying them. One thing to remember is that if you were to pay the arrears, a few months down the line they'll be asking for the arrears again.DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi Everyone,
Hope you are all ok. First payment went out for my DMP in April and started getting statements through showing new balances etc. Virgin CC and Barclaycard have accepted the payment plan and are on 0% interest :-) Marbles CC have whacked a whole load of charges and interest on, but going forward are accepting the payment and reducing interest to 6.1%. Natwest O/D seem to be whacking charges and interest on like there is nobody's business, although they are accepting the payment plan. Need to write to them to request interest reduction. Egg loan is a nightmare as they keep telling the CCCS I dont have an account with them! Tried to clarify the situation with them but to no avail. They have been sent the payment so I hope that they have got it.
Anyways, thank you for all your words of wisdom, looking forward to a DFD, but have no idea when that will be as Natwest keep adding charges. Hopefully it will settle.
Lol

Me again, just wondering does anyone have a Natwest OD where they have successfully had interest frozen?
