Today is the first day of my new non-credit life. This morning I've sent the "freeze" letters and postal orders off to the preditors , sent all my info to the debtline to sort out a dmp provider for me. Now all I have to do is hide! Weird, feel nervous and excited. Onwards and upwards. Thanks to everyone on here for your posts, wisdom, panics, and reassurance. It makes this feel so much less huge and scary when you can see that there are other people, just like you, in the same boat, and dealing with it and even managing to be cheerful!
My very late new year's resolution is to believe that anything is possible - you just need positive thinking!

  • Hi again

Things still fairly quiet for me but I have had a letter from Northern Rock today with an income and expenditure form. Should I complete this or not, as CCCS presumably have already sent them one. Not sure what to do?

    Thank you :)

Hi Mrs Trouble, I am a newbie, but from what I've read on here, I'd just leave it - CCCS should have given NR all the info needed? I'm sure someone with much more experience will be along shortly to shed some light!

Always worth speaking to CCCS and ask them to resend it. NR and other creditors don't always get the message. It's not always best to ignore these letters as NR may just think you're shirking your debt (regardless of any letters/token payments you're already sent).

Would that be the 'wacky backy' or the 'gazunda' sort of pot Mikon? :D

Brilliant advice in your full post. But could you post the link again please? (not connecting) I have looked at the lending standards site but unsure of the page link you posted. Thanks!

Thanks Mikon for that legal advise i have saved it to a word document in my debt folder for future use.
Working now to HALT interest payments with my remaining two creditors been advised by CCCS to send everything by recorded delivery as some companies try to deny they have received anything from you especially if it means them losing money. so beware. will be resending my letters next week. intend to have a good easter break now dads 75 tomorrow so we are having a party for him his suffering from prostate cancer so times are precious.

Recorded post costs more but worth paying the extra so you have proof of dispatch/delivery.
    Enjoy the party!
And a good weekend to all money-savers. If you've got sunshine - enjoy it, it's free! :)
Wishing you all a :easter_os and go easy on the chocolate! :EasterBun
