I have a question about people paying creditors above or near minimum monthly payments and thus not getting interest stopped. I am with Payplan and they pay mine pro-rata. Thus my smallest creditor only gets £3.33 a month for the same length of years as my biggest debt. Do CCCS calculate and pay people a different way? So I was curious about CCCS and why if paying near a minimum payment kick starts interest, pro-rata is not the answer for debts? Barclaycard have not stopped my interest but that just seems to be there quirk as my payment to them is not near the minimum I should be paying per month.

CCCS do calculate payments in a different way to PayPlan. PP are purely on the amount owed. CCCS calculate according to the contractual payment (minimum I believe).

    Hope that makes sense!

Thanks for that info ianmak. It is always useful to have info like that for letting newbies, maybe decide who to use when they have their LBMs.

  • Hi all been a while just an update

everything is going ok with no contact from any however had a contact from m + s a few weeks ago saying my temporary arrangement has ended.

Wrote back saying i would continue with agreed payments received further reply today

"We need to have a discussion with you prior to acting on the contents of your letter and ask that you telephone this office

I must advise you however that we are unable to enter into any further correspondence regarding the exact contents of your letter and you must telephone us"

This is a bit bully boy to me and so far i have dealt with everything via letter only with all creditors, bit loathe to phone them any ideas for a reply that will help here

thanks all and hope all are well

and to anyboyd starting up there own dmp feel free to pm me for some advise if required (ill try my best learnt a bit more now)
  • Inamess, you could send them a letter again reiterating that you will only corrospond through letter and continue to make the payments.

I was originally only going to communicate via letter, but i have decided to take the bull by the horns and i have given them my mobile number and stated I will only answer the phone after 4pm weekdays.

But if / when there is anything in particular said on the phone, i will ask them to back it up in writing.

As of today I've received 4 defaults, out of my 5 creditors - think I'm only waiting on Halifax overdraft one. Now I've just go to find a way of making an extra 21k over the next 6 years to solve all my problems :D
