  • I'm in the same position - £2k overdraft, I pay £11 a month on my DMP to it then they charge me £45 for being over my overdraft which is a direct result of their charges

    Morning all

Can someone please point me to the letter which says can you please stop applying charges as I'm getting nowhere with my overdraft on my DMP :)

    Thanks very much

Just a quick update I had a letter from LLoyds tsb ref my loan account saying that the aggrement had come to an end pls pay all arrears, so I rang them up expecting a long conversation saying no to me pay up but to my surprise they said they will put me back on a reduce payment plan for another 10 months , well I nearly fell off my chair, how easy was that. Now I am waiting for the next one.

This is the best thing that I have done.

    Hi Peeps

Just a little note from me. The month just gone was a bit of a nightmare budget-wise. Yet another £350 going out for the car - £472 last month. BUT we did it with 9p in the Bank on Sunday night! I can't believe that we managed on our quite small budget that we managed to get DH to work, eat and do normal dd activities and pay that amount of money out over two months in CASH and no extra debt. It's a minor miracle but we did it none the less. We feel a bit battered and bruised but we know what we have to do and that is SAVE some money for these emergencies - we did have some money towards these two payments but had to pull other money out of our food and petrol amounts which wasn't easy to do.

That said we now have a good complement of defaults - don't know how many at the moment as we have 10 creditors but it's more than half. We will wait until a year on our CCCS DMP then send for the reports - no point paying for them every month - we will do it yearly for the next couple of years and try and note when they will eventually drop off. Is it correct that each creditor can only issue one per debt? Do these have to be within a certain amount of time form the first default for these to be issued - ie within a year or can they be issued anytime during the time of the debt?

Been reading some encouraging messages and these do give you a lift now and then. We need to get away this year if we can and are considering some time away in our trailer tent so it's just petrol and nightly site fee, although it doesn't have to be far away to be a holiday from home does it? I like going to places where there are lots of stuff that are free to do of course. We have all the cooking facilities and fridge that we need to cater ourselves as we prefer that with our daughter but we may be able to do a meal out with vouchers LOL

Hope you are all feeling UP today.

    Hi All,

I was just wondering if someone can help me, im just about to post off my CCCS (just waiting for a statment from tescos loans), ive filled in all the letters to the credit card companys and loans but it says in the booklet to cancel my direct debits straight away, so do i do this before CCCS recieve my letter? this actually would help me a lot as i am currently living off £24 a week after all my bills have gone out and that isnt including food so im really struggling to live at the moment.

    thanks

Yes, I'm assuming you mean you are sending off all your details to CCCS to set up your DMP? In that case you could write to each of your debtors (i think there is a template somewhere) stating you are in the process of setting up a DMP with CCCS and include a £1 token payment in the meantime and cancel your direct debits.

I think you need to do this monthly until your DMP is up and running to ensure there are no 'missed' payments.

Have you set up a new bank account not linked to any of your debts?
