I wouldn't worry about it Jules, just keep paying the £25. It would be nice if you could get them to accept it, but it's not a problem if they don't.Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

I've had a letter from M&S saying they are stopping interest :j I expected them to be awkward. MBNA have apparently rejected my DMP but their loss! I'll keep paying anyway.Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0

MBNA rejected our offer but still stopped interest and charges. CCCS said they only accept if minimum payment is a certain percentage of total. M and S have been lovely. Santander say they haven't received any info. yeah right and egg say no decision has yet been made.0

We still haven't heard from a lot of our creditors! Its nice not to be getting lots of post everyday but I feel a bit uneasy that its all simmering away in the background !

Good Morning
Off to meet my friend for lunch today, got a voucher so it'll be a cheap day out..0 -
afternoon all..LLoyds TSB are still hounding me and seen to be taking all manner of random payments out of my current account.
Today I checked the business acc I have with them and despite it being at a balance of £3..they have debited £25 out of it to go towards my loan payment..I went into my bank, put the acc back in the black and asked to close it, they have refused saying that because Im in arrears with CC,loan and overdrawn in my personal acc, they have to keep that open..is this right??DMP Mutual Support Thread Member 416

We were actually with A & L but just as it was merging with Santander we went into a DMP. This was started last August and the first letter we had from them said they were stopping interest etc BUT it went downhill from there. The last but one letter said they hadn't had any information as well .... hmmm me thinks there is a pattern somewhere. We then sent them a copy of every letter that had gone between us back and forth and their last letter acknowledged the DMP and accepted the payment. However, they are still charging us for having the overdraft and for not putting enough money into the account to service it.......... There IS NO account since last year LOL

Afternoon DFWs!!!!
I have been a member of this site for a while. I have really just been a lurker but finally had my LBM 2 days ago.
After joining a fee charging DMP, i got a bit of a major telling of by my friend who is rather savvy in the ways of debts and money. After listening to her thoughts, one thing she said stuck in my mind:
"There is nothing a Debt Management Company can do that you can't do yourself!!!"
And so i decided to go it alone.
I spent most of last night, downloading letters and working out my SOA ready to post.
I got home from work today, raring to go and post them, when i realised that some of my statements were out of date, so decided to call all my creditors for up to date totals. Well, the outcome of these calls were very promising.
Barclaycard (whom i heard were a nightmare) agreed straight away to a reduction in payments from £189p/m to £54p/m. Interest heavily reduced to a tiny 0.25% and all charges witheld for the next 12months.
Natwest overdraft agreed to be payed £25p/m for the next 18months, again with interest heavily reduced and all charges stopped.
LLoyds TSB (another horror story) Overdraft agreed to £12p/m for the next 12months with interest and charges frozen.
Vanquis agreed that on my balance of £168 they would accept a F + F payment of £90, with account closed, credit report updated etc.
Just need to contact Aqua card and PoundsToPocket now.
Unfortunately the HSBC Loan, as it have my ex wifes name on it too can't be included. Bummer!!!
Now i know that sending letters is the right way to go, however i thought i would give it a shot, and also slipped in to the agreement that no payment will be made until written proof of the T+C's and agreement has been received by me.
Happy little me. Now to try and clear them ASAP so i may have my life back. Good Luck Guys!!!0 -
Hiya guys. Just a quick update.
Called Aqua and they agreed to a monthly payment of £10. interest reduced to 1% and all charges stopped for 6 months (better than nothing). Cannot get hold of Pounds to Pocket so will send letter to them instead. I think they are actually based in the USA as all thier call staff and voice messages are American!!! Anyway just thought you may wanna know.
Cheers guys0 -
So far M&S stopped interest, on Justabank it said MBNA had rejected offer, however they have written and said they accept it and stopping all interest etc! Barclaycard kept writing and saying they not heard from re re arrears so I was naughty and rang them today. Spoke to the loveliest woman ever who was emphatic and didn't make me feel ashamed. We had chat about the rising cost of living and struggling to make ends meet. She putting a note on file so fingers crossed they stop charges too. And it's a gorgeous day, my family are healthy and at the end of the day.. what else matters?!!Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time :mad:0
