Lol I know what you mean. I now know exactly what I have in my cupboards and it's actually quite fun being creative with stuff that I would have once thrown out. Actually I think that once my DFD finally arrives I will sort of miss the challenge of it all :o

    I so agree with you.
I really hope that when that wonderful DFD arrives I won't lose sight of the real value of money, and what it is you're actually spending!
(Maybe we'll all reminisce about 'the good old days' when we had a packet of pasta and two tins of tuna in the cupboard, and a fiver to last till pay day......)
In the meantime just received my £10-00 M & S voucher for signing up to free trial of 'LoveFilm' - yummy free food :rotfl:

See - there are benefits to this DMP lark - hopefully for those of us with children it will teach them some valuable life lessons too.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.
  • Hi

Just a quick update on my journey. All was going really well until Mortgage fixed rate ended so they want to increase my monthly payment by £30.00. As our house is part ownership we also have rent which today was increased by £11.00. So to top it all off my son is due to start playschool in September it will cost me for this £12.40 per day so I am only putting him in for two days as thats all I can afford. Anyone know how to make £41.00 extra a month? I dont really want to lower my pmt to cccs as I think that 9 years is a long time already.

    Cheers all.

  • Hi everyone, I have just started the process of a DMP and wonderded if you could answer me a quick question. Three years ago i took out a loan for my daughter which she does pay me for every month. Will this loan have to be included in the DMP ?

Thank you so much, i have found this forum to be very helpful and non judgmental which helps a lot when you feel so embarrased about debt problems x

Have you requested a new fixed rate for your mortgage?

  • Hi Ianmak

Yes I spoke to Leeds Building Society and they have told me that if I went on their fixed rate its charge will be £640.00 which there is no way I could afford to do this, also I have a shared ownership house so not many people will touch my Mortgage. so at the moment im stuffed.

    Thanks

That's a shame if you're an existing customer, as in theory you're just changing rate. I've never had to pay anything to roll over onto another fixed rate.

I forget now. Are you with CCCS or PayPlan? If so can they recommend a helpful mortgage broker?
