Hi Everyone I am seeking some help regarding my DMP and in particular one of my creditors Barclaycard. For the past 6 months BC have accepted my DMP payment and no interest has been applied. I have just received my statement and it is showing that they have started to apply interest at a rate of 0.3% which equates for about £40 of the monthly DMP. Also keach month this will not change hence the period before clearing the debt will be longer. Has anyone on here experienced this from Barclaycard and did you resolve it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Mikon

Unfortunately a DMP is not written in stone and so creditors can change arrangements as they see fit :(
I understand that quite often, when your payment reaches roughly where it might have been pre DMP, they chose to start adding interest again.
I have a Barclaycard debt currently at 0%. Like yourself it would be such a set-back to have interest added.
It's a kick in the teeth when you're trying your best. We know they're not your friendly Great Aunt lending you a bob or two, but you're doing your utmost to repay.
Can only suggest writing to them, setting out your position, commitment to repaying etc, etc. and see what reaction you get.
Hope you have success and not a wall! :wall:

Wooohoooo - almost £700 in our account today, put there by Santander. Wow - they paid that fast! Perhaps I was a bit hasty taking them off our Christmas card list last year. LOL

    Hi
Just a quick update on my DMP. I have been recieving letters form KPR Nationwide credit card debt collection people. they have been a right pain. they have sent me numerous letters saying thru want there money asap or they are going to take me to court and a charging order on my home.

After a couple of calls to CCCS the letters have stopped and thay have agreed to accept the payments i have been paying to them.

Just thought i would post this for people going through the same thing.

Hi everyone. Just received my first reduced payment plan letter (after starting DMP with CCCS 1 November). Its from Capital One although they have attached a default letter with the agreement letter. I fully expected trouble from them as they have been a right pain in the past regarding late/missed payments. Halifax seem to be ignoring the offer and are continuing to send texts to my DH's phone reminding us they are charging £5.00 per day while we are over our overdraft! Here's hoping it all works out.
    :( Halifax Loan £6,511, Halifax O/D £1,300
Next Catalogue £576.66, Capital One £397.31
Vanquis £266, Marshall Ward £656.04, Argos Card £1300.:(

If they 'ignore' the offer, continue to get PayPlan or whoever to keep on them. I came across lots of situations where I got phonecalls and letters from creditors hassling me for money. A lot of the time it was where they still hadn't received notification from PP and merely needed the financial statement or whatever to be resent. Just be aware that ignoring calls and letters can make the situation worse early on.

Hi everyone, Just have to share that our 3rd payment has gone to CCCS today. I can't believe how quickly the time is passing but it's great to see the total amount coming down instead of going up:)

That's good to hear Ellie. Celebrate every step. I find it's possible each month, a digit coming down, a % climbing etc.

Our 3rd payment goes off in a couple of days, still a long way to go but it is nice to feel as though we have some control over thing now.

Although with Christmas looming thing may start to feel a bit depressing again :( just need to get through the next 8-9 weeks
