Hey, Twitty, you know how I feel about the Halifax and I had to smile to myself when you said "Good Luck". Having had a mare with them, it's a bit like saying "Good Luck with that hand grenade you're carrying. Where's the pin, by the way?". What would we do without you? You're a doll!!!!!:)

Aagh yes m'dear, but the 'Good Luck' to smcshane was trying to bolster hope, on that dark day when you feel up to your neck in 'effluent' :(
Knowing your dealings with the 'Hellifax' I would expect nothing less from you but to exhort colourful Irish curses, and wail like a banshee in your local branch (what the hell is a banshee anyway?)
And by the way don't you know all our banks are helpful and here to serve us? ;)

13 years off a mortgage is a mind-blowing prospect. Go for it kiddo!

Hey Sweet Cheeks, I was only teasing of course! I really meant it when I said, what would we do without you.:)
I think I will start being called 'Colleen", after all, it is an Irish name (good kudos) and will sun myself at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, drinking £17 Mojitos. Any woman worth her salt could, quite cheerfully, ignore her husband under those circumstances. Especially when he orders chicken nuggets in a 7 star hotel (muppet)!!

Just to say that Halifax have been fine with me so far (passing over to Blair Oliver & Scott, and Westcott. Don't really hear a peep and they normally accept my offers (Knocking on wood, very hard!).

But just imagine how good those chicken nuggets were (presuming they contained chicken that is).

Oops......and a bit upskittling :( especially as your payments increased.
As to upsetting the applecart and being in a precarious position, I know in a recent post I said something about ‘being dependent on your creditors to re-assess where you stand’. Your mistake or not, it left you vulnerable.
Maybe the time is right to contemplate running your own DMP? Know you are brave and upfront in phoning your creditors. Would it ease your mind to hold control now yourself?
    Might be worth thinking over.

Thanks for your vote of confidence, but things have been so quiet for the past two years I didn't want to upset the applecart myself! We shall see if I get more complaints from the others...

  • How exactly does it work with CCCS with the payments. You transfer money to CCCS and then they pay all your creditors? Do you send CCCS exactly the amount they need to pay the creditors each money or can you send a bit more if you can for the next month payments too? Do they send you some sort of statement what they paid etc...??

    Thanks a lot!!

the tooth fairy - yes, we were thrilled that it went through so quickly and easily. We were rather prepared for a fight, so we were a bit surprised.

Hi Everyone I am seeking some help regarding my DMP and in particular one of my creditors Barclaycard. For the past 6 months BC have accepted my DMP payment and no interest has been applied. I have just received my statement and it is showing that they have started to apply interest at a rate of 0.3% which equates for about £40 of the monthly DMP. Also keach month this will not change hence the period before clearing the debt will be longer. Has anyone on here experienced this from Barclaycard and did you resolve it?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Colleen-of-the-future
May the sun always shine and your mojitos never run dry! (Bet you'll yearn for a chicken nugget with some Heinz tomato ketchup for dipping after a few weeks of luxury and decadence):rotfl:
I long for the day when I'll be debt free, but when it does finally arrive, I'll sure miss all of you good folks on here. You're all stars! (Cue tissues and snivelling)

Best way is direct debit, which CCCS take from your account at the beginning of the month. They then distribute the payments between your creditors for you. I seem to recall they apportion it based on what your original payment amount to each creditor was.
However, it's worth noting althought the money is debited from your account early the actual payment to creditors takes place about the 27th of that same month.
You will receive a statement from CCCS every month which details the amount of each original debt, how much you've paid that month, total payments to each creditor to date and current estimated balances. It also shows your monthly payment and the totals, so you can see exactly what the state of play is.
Apologies can't answer your question about overpayment as I never have any extra money to send :o
