  • Had my Telephone 'interview' with PP this morning. All went well and they commented on how organised i was as i had all the facts and figures (account numbers / balances / minimum payments etc) all ready to go on a spreadsheet.

The figures will be submitted and i'll get a call back later today / tomorrow with the 'plan of action'!

Just sending off token payments to everyone today to keep the wolves from the door as advised and waiting to hear back from them now.

  • Hi all

It's been a mixed week, first letter of the week was from Mint telling me that they have stopped the interest :T

Second from additions with late payment charges :( phoned and was told this is because the due date is the 23rd and they are getting the payment on the 25th, asked them to chance thing but they are saying the we are on a 4-week payment and not a monthly one

Phoned CCCS and they said they will deal with it and get the late payment back :T

One thing I am frustrated with is that there a couple of small payments to creditors, one of £145 and one of £205, it would be nice if these could be paid off in the early months of the DMP and not be around for months.

I know the all the creditors have to be treated equally but it would be nice to see a couple drop away earlier

That's a good start! I'm sure you'll get the payment dates sorted and have everything running smoothly soon :)
But I agree - it is SO frustrating with the smaller debts. It's money that's owed, but you just want to start making inroads on the bigger debts.
Unfortunately it's the way the system works. Some have tried F + F's on the smaller debts but on the whole it's not viewed as the 'correct' thing to do :( by the distributors of payments.
I have just three creditors - 2 owed about the same, and one with a much, much smaller amount.
I would love to get this lesser debt out of the way, but wonder if I had the funds would I have the courage? Would to hate to upskittle my whole DMP.

Well done so far and just keep on paying

  • Hello everybody!

I'm starting my maternity leave today and about time too! :)

I have a telephone review with Payplan next Thursday after 1 year on the plan and things have been running well for the most part.

I was hoping we'd be able to scratch about and keep up our monthly repayment without having to lower it, but I now realise that this is probably quite a foolish thing to do.

So I've decided that when I speak to Payplan I will tell them that obviously, I'll be on a reduced wage. Effectively, we'll be around £600 per month worse off for the six months I'm off work.

I'm just so worried that the creditors are going to get nasty again, after everything's run so smoothly, and obviously with a new baby to look after, I'm not sure I'd cope with the phonecalls, etc. I didn't cope very well when the plan started so God knows what I'll be like without sleep, etc!

I briefly spoke to Payplan last week and they said that creditors tend to look sympathetically upon maternity leave as it's an indisputeable slash of wages.

It doesn't stop me worrying though :(

ANY HELP AND ADVICE ON THIS WOULD BE REALLY WELCOME!!

    Many thanks, CC xx

Hi everyone have this week sent our creditors information to CCCS and have sent token payments to our creditors with a letter. We have had a call nearly everyday from Vanquis Credit Card who we have already informed that we are going on a DMP. We have also received letters from Halifax Personal Loan and today Halifax Overdraft both asking us to contact them and also a Vanquis letter. Do we ignore these or contact them. Also do we have to send copies of any letters we receive or just file them at home. Thanks for any advice you can give.
    :( Halifax Loan £6,511, Halifax O/D £1,300
Next Catalogue £576.66, Capital One £397.31
Vanquis £266, Marshall Ward £656.04, Argos Card £1300.:(
 Plus 3 Payday Loans  NEVER AGAIN!!

    Hi ya,

CCCS should be able to tell you which letters you need to send to them. Maybe on their website somewhere?

It's up to you if you contact your creditors. Personally I've always spoken to my creditors when necessary and explained the situation, and they were always fine with that. Just don't give them any more money if they ask for it! And also expect some frosty calls at the start!

Hi Ianmak many thanks for your advice. Think Vanquis are getting funny as its my DHs debt and he works really long hours and is not here 24/7 to talk to them, although he has had the delight of speaking to them on his mobile twice last week so they know we're going through CCCS. I've sent CCCS the most up to date statements I have so hopefully that will do for now. Thank you.

  • Hi all, I have been lurking for a while soaking up some advice.
Just about to start a temporary token payment plan administered by cccs. There has been a bit of toing and froing as, but all paperwork submitted now and I am awaiting the first payment to be taken. will cccs advise me of the date that this will go out?

I have advised my creditor of the situation, but they are chasing me for £400 arrears on a loan for £11k and threatening to offset from one of my accounts with them that is not in arrears. I am making online payments to them for variable amounts as my income varies weekly (in temporary employment, only paid for the hours that I work).
I have had a fractious couple of months, unexpected expenses with the car and a broken fridge, leaking guttering etc, the usual stuff that catches us out when we havent got a cushion of savings. Things that in the bad old days would have just gone on the credit card.

I know I am at the start of the journey and there will be a few more twists and turns, as I am possibly going to lose my job in a few weeks - will know more when the public sector spending review is announced in a couple of days.

with the help of this site I have sucessfully recalimed nearly £3k in mis-sold ppi and am awaiting a payment from Npower for overcharging in 2007.
still learning and hopefully will not let debt continue to rule my life.
    have a good day all.
