hi we're into our 2nd month of a DMP with Payplan & so far so good, we have no complaints at all about the service they've provided.
we've now had all but 3 arrangements accepted, for some reason DH overdraft @ Lloydstsb has been rejected (other accounts we had there have been accepted) & both our barclays CC accounts. has anyone else had this prob with barclays? i've been informed that they've passed my debt onto some company (can't remember the name but i googled & they don't sound very nice) apparently they are a chase company, so far we've not heard anymore.
a couple of companies have actually sent really polite & quite understanding letters (Northern rock re; loan) & Next.
good luck to you all x0 -

Northern Rock and my other 'meaty' debts were ok when accepting, it was the two overdrafts and a sofa on interest free that were nightmares, both took over 6 months to accept and stop charges & interest. No idea why, but wanted to ket you know you're not the only one out there!DMP mutual support thread No: 2430 -
Hi All,
Haven't been around for a while. I have got a little side tracked with reading a few diaries, especially Memory Girls which has helped me gain a bit of focus back to my debt free journey but has also helped other areas of my life!
So another month has passed and an updated signature which shows that things are moving slowly but surely. I'm determined to hit the 10K mark now by the end of the year.
Wrote to Halifax over this whole thing relating to me now paying above minimum's and the interest started again. Explained that I would be increasing my payment again this month but I was still in financial difficulty, sent details of all other creditors. Got a letter back to thank me for my letter and they would reinstate my plan for 6 months so I'll just have to see what happens. At least a reduction in interest would help!
Some of you might be aware last month I mentioned my debt free tree on my study wall! Well this has grown a little taller this month and has a new pretty arrow on it:rotfl:Once I get to the 50% paid it will start to grow leaves but I am just happy with a taller tree stump at the minute.
On the life front, there have been a couple of changes at work so may find out next week if I really am appreciated, keeping my fingers crossed.
Hope the DMP's are going well for you all and budgets are still in tact, and most of all try and have fun on this journey whatever the hurdles we encounter:)

Thanks for the update smcshane.
Good news, bad news but I hope the work thing goes well for you. A couple of months ago I wrote a letter to my employers extolling my virtues and setting out in writing my contributions (damn near poohed myself in fear) but I got an upgrade! Hope it's the same for you.
Love what you say about having fun. I know lots of new starters and those struggling will be bemused. But once you get a grip on the money saving thing it becomes part of life, and a bit of a poke in the eye to those in the 'other' credit world. It doesn't have to cost large amounts of dosh to have a good tiime.
Hope your money tree grows and matures real soon :j

Well just an update.
Have been assessed by Payplan and have got a telephone appointment with my case worker next week. Most of my creditors have been pretty good, saying they will wait to hear from payplan (I have been sending token payments). All except Nationwide Credit Card , they haven't acknowledged my two token payments with letter even though they have received them (had to ring them to check). They have sent me a snotty letter saying they have instructed their collectors to come to my home address to collect payment and discuss my finacial situation. I phoned National debtline (Payplan were shut) and they told me to write a letter saying I do not authorise anyone to come to my home address and I will not discuss the matter over the phone or face to face and will only deal with written correspondance. I have also said if anyone does come to my home them I will consider this harrassement and escalate the matter.
NDL were so helpful ....but it has made me feel very down and antsy today.........................hubby was not happy at the threat.0 -
Had some stuff on E-Bay last night and it went fairly well
so went SHOPPING today (it's a girl thing
)
Important birthdays soon so got them sorted + some main Christmas pressies.:D (Money saver style!)
Question? Why is it when there is no money in the pot I can live on peanuts but give me some extra and I can spend it faster than the blink of an eye?
But thankfully it's not on the C/C now but all accounted for. I remember Ian saying he was much the same with any 'extra' money. I manage on my budget and I'm proud to have the 'Money Saver' badge, give me £5 quid and I cope well, but a £500,000 lottery win would be beyond my scope (but I'm willing to give it a try!)

It is just a threat! Do some Internet research and you will see your rights.
The big boys are trying to put the frighteners on you. Re-read your letter and see if includes 'maybes' and 'ifs'
Write your letter and keep copies of all correspondence. Try not to be down - you've done really well so far.

Hi Guys
Not been on for a while just paid my second months payment to cccs. So far halifax have stopped all interest. I was after a bit of advice on Barclaycard as they have reduced the interest to 3% do you think i should ask them to consider stopping it all together and if so is there a template to use?
Also Citifinancial are hounding me and do not seem happy with my payments, i am going to speak with them tomorrow but has anyone had any dealings with these guys?
So far so good though and anyone thinking of entering the plan i would say do it i can honestly say its the best thing i have done confronting my debts and that you are not alone there asre some fantastic people on here that can share their experiences which will guide you through0 -
I have requested a redetermination hearing at my local county court (Lovely Nationwide have obtained a CCJ) - I am looking to write to the judge prior to the hearing with all the information that I can.
Is there a particular form I can use for this? or should I just address the letter to the court or any particular department.
Thanks in advance
I have been paying £29 a month for last 12 months and they have got a ccj for £120 per month on a balance of £2400  - Nationwide really are not acting reasonably!0 -
Just wondered if anyone has ever had to miss a months payplan payment and what effects it had?
I've just had to pay out to get my car through its MOT and thats left me with no money to pay Payplan on the 1st. I've been trying to contact them today but have been constantly on hold so not been able to talk to anyone.
My payplan has been going for over a year and i don't have any trouble with any of the creditors anymore, i am concerned that not being able to pay this month will cause numerous problems but i cant see how i've got any other choice.0
