I'm filling in the pre-printed letters CCCS have sent me to send off to my creditors regarding the DMP. Is it best to send them signed for etc and which address should I send them to??

Send them recorded (so you have proof they were delivered) but either (best option) don't sign them, use a computer font or if you must sign do it, sign with a indecipherable, wee squiggle nothing like your normal signature.
I think I sent mine to the the address on the last statement. Seems a long time ago now and I really struggle to remember what I did yesterday :o

    Hi All

Well Ive just rung Payplan and in a way I feel a bit I dunno bit of relief but feel as if nothings changed if that makes sense. All she really did was doublecheck what I had put on the site and said they were getting a pack sent out in the post to me with templates of letters and an Income and Expenditure to send to my creditors. Does this sound about right? I thought that I may be asked loads of questions and things. In a way I dunno whether I should of asked more questions but I was a bit in shock that I was actually trying to get it sorted. Whats everyone think?? xx
I don't think it sunk in with me until the big day when I sent out the token payments. Also, I started a file with the exact amount we owed everyone, and that came as a big shock to me! If you think of anything you want to ask, you can always use the Justabank website to send your case officer a message, once you are up and running.

The best is yet to come, once you've got through the set-up process :)
You're on your way! Work your way through the pack gradually and always keep all your paperwork.
Any questions ask Payplan or post here.
You done good so far! ;)

  • Hey, Twitty, the stranger here! I've been reading the last 5 pages of the thread avidly. What good advice you all give!
Got offered a few extra bits at work (it all helps!) and after the yearly PP review(which was really ok), and the added on interest on 2 of our cards, I felt really down for a couple of weeks. Don't know why.
However, to help ease your mind, you have to put yourself in anothers' shoes, I think, so I will try my best to join in more, sorry work has overtaken everything at the mo.
    Hope everyone is coping ok,

Understand you had a knock-back with the interest thingy - don't let the b*st*ards grind you down gal!
Work is frustrating but necessary :(
    Glad to have you back

You really should mention all this to PP or CCCS next time you speak to them. If you didn't mention it during your initial convo, then they won't know to ask you, if you know what I mean?

  • Morning All!

I just wanted to update you on progress with my new DMP with CCCS - my first payment of £396 goes out on 1st October so I can't wait to get the ball rolling!

On a very positive note I received a letter from Barclays yesterday regarding my DMP and my £10,000 loan with them, I was stunned to hear that they accept my payment through the DMP and are freezing all interest and charges! :j I could have done a somersault I'm so happy as this is by far my biggest debt to a creditor!

Also had a letter from MBNA saying they don't accept the DMP payment offers but to pay the amount anyway and they will freeze charges and interest in light of my financial difficulties?! :)

So two results which I'm happy with, still have not heard a single word from Tesco credit card, Barclaycard or my Barclays overdraft though so no idea what's going on with them! They all accepted my token payment last month though!

I lived last month as a test run on my new DMP budget and built up a war chest for if things get tough, I am chuffed to report that I came in at spending £20 under budget in total so that has gone into a rainy day pot ;)

Overall I'm feeling great and really positive about things at the minute, good luck to all my fellow peeps starting their DMP's this month and on a way to a new debt-free life!

    xx

Yes, MBNA were a bit funny with my OH at the start (he had an old loan with them) but after a couple of phone calls, they were fine and accepted the DMP. However, some of their letters read like they were written in Victorian times, so don't worry about that!
Tesco c/c couldn't have been better. They were the first to stop interest and seemed really switched on, so hopefully that will be the same outcome for you.
Your post was so cheerful, it would really encourage anyone starting out on this ( I hate the J word!) also loved the 'war chest', a certain W. Churchill Esq. would be very proud of you!

  • Thanks for the reply Ianmak. Im gonna wait till the pack comes and have a look to see what I need to do then Ill ring them for some more advice. I think maybe I was expecting more from the initial call if that makes sense. I had worked myself up into calling I think thats why I thought more would happen at the 1st stage, but I have calmed down slightly so gonna wait for the pack and take it from there xx
