Gosh, Moneypenny, you really do sound in control!!!

Good luck with the job application - presumably you can apply and have a look with no compulsion to accept if it is offered? And it will be an added bonus if they pay your travel and accommodation! Guernsey does sound lovely - think the winters are much milder there. (Not that it's cold in London) :rotfl:

Best of luck whatever you decide.

LOL Ann, I'm an inner control freak. shhh don't tell anyone

Yes I can apply and they will pay for the travel and accommodation for the interview so it's a win win situation if I get an interview. A couple of days off work and a free trip to Guernsey too lol

Ann it is sooo hot down here.

I am in my pjs. I refuse to leave the house but i really fancy some chicken tonight i will have to go out soon.

I have been sitting on the bed watching celebrity fantasy homes as i didn't sleep v well last night. Oh my gosh. These people are so peculiar. One house in London was £12.5 million, it was an apartment and had a coffin room- wierd. It is so fascinating. Gosh.

Ms Moneypenny it is good to try something new. I wish you well with your application, use it as a holiday. Dont worry about tiredness, it is to be expected after your illness. Just take it easy and dont worry about tidying up etc for a while till you get your strength back.

Gabby Roslin was showing people round houses in Kensington. 750 grand for a little flat 4 floors up and there was no lift!!! oh my gosh. I like to visit but I wanted to shake the couple and say oh my gosh what are you doing????

Fitzer tell us more. I am nosey. Which part of Ireland are you from. Do you miss it? What do you like about London? Tell us something funny. Anything. I am still trying to figure you out but I know you are a nice person so i am not being suspicious just nosey. I am turning into such a nosey parker. It's great. I feel like Miss Marple.

    Hello everyone.

    Phew its still a scorcher isn't it?:j

Dad still not able to walk, but we are taking one day at the time, however he did manage to talk a little more today, even though jumbled.
Hopefully he will improve as he goes along.

    Hope you've all had a lovely day.

    Hi Di,

It certainly is a scorcher - still stifling hot!

And they say tomorow is going to be even hotter - good, because I am out to a barbecue tomorrow afternoon!

Glad to hear that your did is managing to talk. Does this mean that you managed to get to see him?

    For all the football fans!

Nadal was nearly beaten this afternoon - by a German!!

But it went to 5 sets and Nadal ended up winning!

Does anyone think this might be an omen for the Germany match tomorrow???

I'm a born and bred Londoner, I can't really envisage living somewhere else. It's one of the most vibrant cities in the world, always something to do if you want to. There are down sides but in general I love here and wouldn't think of moving from London forever. For a few years, maybe as long as I could come back regularly

    I am not surprised, Beanie.

    We do gossip a lot!

Is it hot where you are?

I am sure you are right, Moneypenny.

I really love visiting London but the pace is quite hectic and I always feel a bit of a "country bumpkin" when I go there!

But it doesn't have to be expensive - the galleries and museums are free (unless the government have a change of heart on this!) and the food and drink at the pubs and wine bars are cheaper than they are at some of the twee gastro pubs around here!

One of my dreams is to go to an opera or ballet at Covent Garden. Have wandered around there and been inside the Royal Opera House - but only for a drink! Perhaps one day .....
