Morning everyone.
Hope you are all well.
I've just got in after doing a bit of shopping.....its too hot to shop.!! So the coffee is on and I'm going to read the paper for at least half an hour.
Hope you have recovered from your ' funny' phone call Ann.
Thanks Elsie,
Yes, I soon got over my "little wobbly moment" . And am really touched at all the lovely messages of support I have received from my friends on here!
Have just been to the supermarket myself! It was absolutely heaving - bet everybody is doing their shopping in preparation for watching the football tomorrow afternoon. Bet the shops will be deserted then!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Good morning everyone.
Hope your all well and enjoying the hot sunny weather.;)
Could not remember if I posted an update last night on dad or not, but mum and sister went to see dad and although the staff when I spoke to them on the phone yesterday morning told me there was slight improvement, he is not 100%.
Dad could not get his words out last night and was unable to walk, at this stage we are not sure is its the dementia/alzeimhers progressing or the meds, so this is something they are looking closely into as well.
Poor dad at just age 69 bless him.
Anyway on a brighter note, my eldest son Jamie received one his Health and Safety pass certificate in the post this morning.:T:beer:, and he have almost completed his Advice and Guidance NVQ level 3 course as well, so fingers crossed.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I tend not to answer the phone at the moment, but I did speak to one of our creditors, who we have not CCA's, and they said if we could pay £600 then they would knock off the remaining £300. So I have written to them asking for this in writing, along with the fact that they will mark our credit file as settled. I was very brave, and tried to sound very unimpressed, and hopefully sounded in charge of the conversation. I would never have been so forceful before, just very meek and mild......!!

Hi Di,
Sorry to hear about your dad. It must be very distressing for you all to see him like that and, as you so rghtly say, 69 is no age!
However, I am sure you have a lot of memories of the good times and I always think that these help get through the dark times. And it must be such a comfort to both your dad and your mum for them to know that you are there for them: that generation does sometimes have difficulty in expressing their feelings.
Good news about your son, though. You must be very proud of him!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -

Well done you!
And so right to ask for it in writing!"What does not kill me makes me stronger". Frederich Nietzsche, 1844-1900.0 -
Thoughts are with you and family Di.......its a very worrying time. Hope your Dad improves.

Oh Di, I think you are so brave. I would fall apart if anything happened to my mum or dad. And you are always here for us too.
Ann did you go to the supermarket? It is too hot. I am on my 3rd load of washing (reds, blues, whites). I tend to do it at the weekends. It is so wonderful here. I might go but it will have to be in a taxi as it is too hot for me.
Elsie Ann's thread is making us assertive i think. So well done!!!
Mr Fitz if you are still around do tell us more about yourself as i am really curious. Do you realise all we know about Swan fan is that he has dogs, he decorates and likes football and is good at the weather. I am totally convinced he is Michael Fish.
I am sooooo nosey but it is fun on this site. I didn't used to be. I am the most polite person ever.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -
Poor Di. you have so much to put up with. My mum was ill and in and out of hospital for years and it really does take it's toll on you. 69 is no age at all but at least you've got happy memories. Congratulations to your son.
Ann. Sorry I wasn't around when you had your 'wobbly'. You are incredibly brave putting up with all the hassle. I think you should change your name to lionann because you're certainly not a mouse now.0 -
