I am so frustrated. On Friday there were laods of £160 flights with delta around the end of March.

Now they have all gone!!! Cheapest I can find are £229.

    Serves me right.

    £229 is still pretty good.

  • Many thanks for all the advice! I've booked the Continental Gatwick - Newark on Travelocity.co.uk for 10-13 Feb and (including a £4 credit card fee) it came to £334.06 for two people! I joined the Virgin Flying Club and rang them twice, but no luck getting a price match.
  • Lon to NYC - Feb 07 - £164.97 (incl taxes)

Travelocity are offering cheap Continental flights to New York. I can confirm availability 1 6 February for a long weekend - cost £164.97 inclusive of all taxes and charges:

    Link is as follows http://www.travelocity.co.uk/site/travel/flights
  • I just booked four seats from Gatwick to Newark in February 2007 on the Continental website for a total of £641.60 for the four return fares= £160.40 each!
    Can't be bad!
And there seemed to be plenty of availability - three flights out and two back to choose from.

  • Tried booking and can only get the £160 deal if I book for one person. Book for two and it's £170 + Taxes. Seems weird.

If I book two separate tickets, what are the chances of getting two seats together? I don't fancy 8 hours effectively on my own - neither of us is a good flyer!

  • 1) If you're talking about Continental it's no problem, as you get to select your seat when you book, so you can just select 2 adjacent ones!
    2) I don't know why you're having this problem though, just go to their home page and click on 'Advanced Search' where you get the chance to point out that you're booking from the UK - perhaps this is an issue?
  • Thanks, but it's still doing the same thing.

Can't find the £160 fare I had last night. Realise it's the last day to book and looking for 17/Feb to 23/Feb +/- a day and it's all £170 + Taxes.

Unfortunately, my partner is a teacher, so the earliest we can leave is the 17th. Looks like the £160 fares end on the 16th. Typical!
  • After 2 hours wrangling, managed to snaffle two tickets on Continental to NYC between 16th and 22nd Feb, next year. Chuck in a modest hotel and it's £414 per person. Bargain!

Anyone still trying should give https://www.lastminute.com a go.

    Now, where are my thermals?
