I don't think that a contract obtained in this way would be enforceable. Fortunately for you, you don't just have my opinion to rely on (I am not a lawyer), as your solicitor has told you the same.
In case anyone is coming into this thread right at the end, the simple advice is just to avoid IPG like the plague if they have contacted you.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Atleast there was no chain involved. We are relocating and were going to rent a house until that time next year.0

I have mentioned this to my Solcitor today and she thinks that if they contact us again it will be from a prison cell - the company has been in the business of taking cash from people and pretending to sell their property to various investors. They are not answering telephones and they actually do not have legit business premises. It would be interesting to see if they do come along at a later date and try to get 1200 from us!
We actually knew from quite early on in the "deal" that it was inevitable that Mr Brown was not going to complete the sale, the delays in paperwork were terrible etc. We had nothing to loose once we had signed the "contract" to pay them on completion.
Absolutely no danger of them trying to get money out of you now. They have only been stringing you along because you were giving them the benefit of the doubt on this thread, which helped their cause. At least your latest postings prove your bona fides - perhaps you might get a few apologies now from those who questioned them so aggressively earlier.0 -

Shame on him for helping these scammers get away with it.
Why would this lowlife be expecting an apology?
Are you always such an axxxhole? Yes I think is the answer!!!! I am onto you like flies on sh@@!
Its a shame you havent admitted to the fact that you were sacked from IPG and that is why you are like this.
as for the "lowlife" who the hell do you think you are? lowlife = Running Horse.0 -

Theres always one - Running Horse, who has to act like a ?????
Your right, about them not being able to get any money from us, they are no longer around.
Pity that more people didnt request payment on completion or no deal!0 -

At best you have been proved to have been wrong all along. At worst you were implicated in persuading people these scammers were a reputable company to do business with.
And no amount of abusive PMs will change what you are.
and no amount of you calling me a "lowlife" is going to change what you are - a scumbag!!!!!
Why dont you go and sign on at the local benefit office and claim your benefits, you obviously dont work (as previously discussed) but by the looks of it there is nothing medically wrong with you as you can sit here and type all day!!!!!0 -

Think this is pot and kettle ..............0 -
I had rather hoped that now we are all apparently agreed that IPG is a scam, we might see an end to this pointless abuse, which contributes nothing to the thread.0

Hi again, can I ask people for a description of Mr Brown/Smythe/Capello please? My husband met him and said he was about mid thirties, mediteranean looking, 5ft 6ish, slightly built, slightly greying, softly spoken. He drove a black VW Golf - new looking, didn't get ref unfortunately, but then why would you. Just want to see if this is all the same guy or different operators.0
