I can actually think of quite a few things that would land you in legal trouble but my first assumption was child !!!!!!.
What was you presuming when you were questioning the contents of the laptop?
I wondered if there was anything on there he wouldn't want the repair guy to see, but that could be illegally downloaded music/movies, perfectly legal adult !!!!!!, bank details on an unprotected Word file or even nudey pictures of the OP. I didn't even think of child !!!!!! (and from the number of perverts who get caught with child !!!!!! when their laptops go in for repair I'm guessing they don't think about it too much either).Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

What's he going to be like if ever you became accidentally pregnant - "it's your own fault, and I don't want kids yet so get rid of it. It's your problem not mine so don't come running to me with tears ..."
Seriously, cold shouldering someone over an incident that is at least as much their mistake and shortsightedness as yours would have me asking questions about the maturity of the "other half".
Speaking of overreactions.............Have I slept through Christmas & the New year?0 -
Surely it would be myself making them, would it not?
Why? Are no other males capable of making a misogynist comment?
I think Person One was trying to point out that, perhaps, you don't pull up every guy you hear making a casual/jokey misogynist comment.
I must admit that I didn't say anything, simply because it read as a joke, not a serious comment.
And no, if a guy made a similar comment as a joke, then I wouldn't say anything either.
If, however, he developed a habit of frequently making those comments then I would begin to question how much truth was actually behind those comments and ask him to stop. Just as I would with a woman.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

As for a slap. I read it as a figure of speech, it's very often used at the moment, as in "What she needs is a good slap." never put into practice I hope.0 -
My worst was a wax strip, sticky side down.

Really? Mmm, interesting.
Quite common in Kent and will often receive the response 'You could try..... but you'll get a slap back!'. But it's all done in a very light hearted and jokey way. If there's ever a serious tone to it, then said person is quickly told it's not acceptable, by both the men and the women present (and usually shuts up pretty sharpish too).February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
I certainly didn't read the original reference to "giving a slap" in the literal sense. We use the term here, just as a figure of speech...I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0
