Have you tried claiming housing benefit for your rent.
What about your hubby is he getting any benefits - job seekers allowance etc.?

I don't really understand the situation with the tax credits - do you mean that you were overpaid?
On your income you should qualify for quite an amount- could you not get back in touch with the tax credit office and find out what the score is properly.
You need to post details of all your debt payments so people can try and help you with suggestions for cutting down on interest etc. Once everything is listed there will be a much clearer picture of your situation. It may be that you would be better off talking to payplan.

Don't give up hope there rae lots of people on here much better qualified than me to help, keep logging on you will get lots of support.

  • My advice to you is not to worrie. I have alot of debt. i tell the people who phone they can have 15 pound a month or take me to court, i also tell them i will only correspond via letter (stops alot of bull !!!!). I should never have been loaned the amounts i was or charged the fees i was either. I have hid from the debts for a long time but am now going toe to toe with debt companies. They rely on intimidation and as i am not intimidated by them they dont really know what to do.
  • I think you need to get all the paperwork and sit down and work it all out, if you're being kept in the dark it won't help you at all.
The council tax may be solved at the magistrates, sort all your debt figures out by then and take with you. I still think you could claim for council tax benefit.
Look at it as blocks of £100 and try to break it down that way - doesn't pay it off but might look a bit less scary.

This is probably going to fall on deaf ears with your hubby, but has he thought about bus driving?

I've been doing it for 7 years and I know I have a job for the rest of my life. I'm not a people person by any means but I find that I can chat to a few and there is always something going out the window to look at;)

You haven't said if you're behind hubby re-joining:confused:

If you're not happy and won't be joining him then maybe you need to do some serious thinking about whether you should be supporting him now if he can't be bothered doing anything:confused:

On the bright side, you've got people on here that will support you 100% so pat yourself on the back, give yourself a good hug and smile:A
  • Sorry - its not an area I'm familiar with so I don't know of any places that could help you locally, have you got in touch with the national debtline?
  • Your hubby needs to realise that these debts are not yours and yours alone, he needs to be contributing to the household if he is happy using the facilities, soory I sound like a cow (without the moo), but he really is being unfair.

We are all here for you and I am sure that we will all do what we can to guide you thru this poopy time

Maria hunny you are not alone, you have us (((((hugs))))))

Firstly, what colours do you need for your daughter school uniform? No promises, but I might have some of my DDs younger sizes left which I wont use. let me know what you need & I'll see if I can help.

Secondly, this is going to sound harsh, but your hubby needs a kick up the backside, you have a little girl to think about, he cant sit around on his backside all day & let you feed him. You are going to have to be tough on him hun, you sound like you are working so hard & worrying so much, does he understand how lucky he is?

Does he become eligible for benefits after so many weeks? Also what about income support? could you be eligible for that?

Contact the CCCS re your debts, they really are brilliant & free :T

Hi Maria Well done for posting on here, I've just asked for help and the support is amazing.

I was just thinking that if you live so far from the school, shouldn't the eduacation thingy have to organise transport.

They do in Wales where I am if you live more than 3 miles from the school.
  • Right, the reality is you have £1315 in arrears. But don'tfocus on that at the mo!!

Q: The BT payment of £90... is that to clear the debt so you can be reconnected or does this mean you do have a phone line:confused: and is this payment a monthly one?

Q: The same with the gas and elec?

The car insurance situation needs to be sorted what is the amount that you actually pay, do you have bank statements available?
