Overcrowding???
Comments
-
The HA I work for would give you 10 points (1 unit) for overcrowing at the moment, with another 10 when the baby is born. We don't take anyone else in the property into consideration. So even if there were say, 5 people squashed into a bedroom, if they aren't on the application, their overcrowding isn't considered.
Thank you! Some relavant advice

You are welcome, hope you get it sorted soon.0

Wow I return to this thread and look whats happened!
Im in no way demanding anything, pleading a sob story, or thinking im entitled to anything im not- I was simply explaining my current situation and if that was classed as overcrowding.
Im not even looking for ways in which I could get bumped up the list, which yes, I could easily do- but I understand it works on a priority level so why should I? When people in higher bands are clearly in greater need than myself
Thank you Wee Willy Harris for fighting my corner, I have got the advice I needed and a response the the original question answered.
Please dont post anything else about planned pregnancy or contraception, if you reread the original question, you'll realise its not really relavent in the slightest
xx
ok fair enough - but the pregnancy is relevant as there will be another person in the house, thus increasing the "overcrowded" issue - and if not relevant why even mention it??
I assume you've not mentioned this irrelevant fact to the council either?0 -

Fot 2 years this couple have "lived off family". Now those family circumstances have changed, as have the OP's, and she is exploring the options open to her.
Quite why you would throw scorn on what is clearly a very sensible course of action is beyond me.0 -

She didn't say she wasn't LOOKING for anything. She said that she wasn't DEMANDING anything which, if you take the trouble to READ her posts, is true.0 -

Again, reread the question... I am asking about my priority level. Obviously im interested in getting a council house, as per my OP, Im not interested in getting anything im not entitled to.
Please stop posting useless snide remarks, its pretty pointless0 -

It's not relevant because it can't be changed. I'm sure her circumstances would be different if she was a boy, but there's not much point in arguing that either.
We are presented with a set of circumstances. Some can change, some are set in stone. I have yet to see anyone advise just how she can change the fact that she is pregnant. You may not agree with the pregnancy, but that won't alter the fact that the OP IS pregnant. I'm happy to offer advice on a hypothetical basis assuming she is not pregnant, but I just don't see the point. Do you?0 -

I am ''entitled'' to my opinion- its my money through my taxes which is funding your ''entitled'' living.:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -

The OP pays tax too, as does her partner. The option of applying for social housing is also available to you.0 -

Yes, you are but your prejudices are showing loud and clear.
Local Authority housing is not funded by the tax-payer, it's self-financing and has been for a long time and the OP and her partner are both income tax-payers and possibly every other adult in their household as well. Therefore the net result to the exchequer could be very positive unlike the negative which you are assuming.0
