OK - point made
what about her other half trying to find extra work?? can she not move back home?
Yes - ideally would be nice to be together, but if it's overcrowded why is a council house the first option?
I just think that if people rely on others to get them out of a mess, give them what they want, provide for them, then they will never change and it will pass onto the next generation.0 -

A council house is the first option for very sensible reasons... security of tenure, repairs, low rent (very pertinant as b/f works), right to buy/aquire etc etc etc. Frankly, it should be at the top of everyones list when they consider renting.0 -

Maybe a little, but it's a fair comment. She didn't say "entitled" in her OP, just enquired about her circumstances in a pretty undemanding way. Only one of her posts used the word "entitled" and even that wasn't in the context infered.0 -
No - it wasn't demanding. I wonder if she can go to her parents? - maybe wouldn't be overcrowded there and therefore would take them longer to get housed??
some people put themselves into a situation to enable them to get the best out of it , i.e. a council house quicker0 -

She's lived away from her parents for 2 years. Neither of us know the reason or if she can return. That wasn't what she was asking though.
As I've indicated in my earlier reply, if she were to return to her parents, that may well address the overcrowding, but it would create a split family which also gets her a priority equal to, or greater than, the overcrowding.0 -

Funny how people are happy to 'claim' and live off strangers (i.e taxpayers) but feel that they should not live off their own family sometimes.........:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -
Wow I return to this thread and look whats happened!
Im in no way demanding anything, pleading a sob story, or thinking im entitled to anything im not- I was simply explaining my current situation and if that was classed as overcrowding.
Im not even looking for ways in which I could get bumped up the list, which yes, I could easily do- but I understand it works on a priority level so why should I? When people in higher bands are clearly in greater need than myself
Thank you Wee Willy Harris for fighting my corner, I have got the advice I needed and a response the the original question answered.
Please dont post anything else about planned pregnancy or contraception, if you reread the original question, you'll realise its not really relavent in the slightest

If you are not looking at getting anything why do you want to know if you are classed as overcrowded?!?:silenced:They Were Up In Arms wrote: »I think tabskitten is a crying, walking, sleeping, talking, living troll :cool:0 -
The HA I work for would give you 10 points (1 unit) for overcrowing at the moment, with another 10 when the baby is born. We don't take anyone else in the property into consideration. So even if there were say, 5 people squashed into a bedroom, if they aren't on the application, their overcrowding isn't considered.0
