Hi la escocesa thought I'd drop in on you! I hope you are enjoying your weekend and you've managed to get some things crossed off your to do list . Your wedding is getting really close now ! Its really strange when it gets to the last few weeks to the big day because after all the planning and waiting , it feels surreal that the moment is upon you. I can remember on the actual day ,waiting to enter the church with my dad and thinking how I couldn't believe it was happening , I'd imagined the moment for so long and there i was living it . I read your 101 list and make sure you do get to savour a glass of bubbly (in fact at least one)on the day !I was so busy getting ready , sorting the younger bridesmaids and then chatting to everyone that I didn't actually enjoy a full drink. Just you wait until you get your wedding dress on and you look in the mirror and you are all ready to go-it is such an amazing feeling ! I'm really excited for you ! The day after your wedding is amazing too - you wake up and remember that you are a married woman , you are Mrs ....! Make sure you've got a bottle of bubbly for this day too because it's lovely to have a toast to the future just the two of you. keep me posted on how the run up is going x0

Uh thanks bookwormlou! Reading that message has made me even more excited:j We've done loads of planning today (the housework is suffering
) - everything is slowly coming together. :T 0 -
I love your 'to do' list - I ought to do one as well as listing all my decluttering. Ooh I'm turning into a right list geek :rotfl:Oh well, there are worse things to be I'm sure. My DH is one, so maybe I'n turning into him

I agree with Lou, make sure you get time to enjoy your day and toast you and your new hubbie!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well, not really got a lot to update... This past week has been pretty much event-less...
Didn't spend too much at work - took stuff in so I could make lunch at work, met OH once but he paid
, got a sandwich of the day the other day...
Went shopping on my lunch break one day but ended up getting a great deal on a dress - had been looking at some that were around £70, trying to justify buying them, and then found one that's perfect for £12 in tk max :T Got a nice pair of shoes too so all set for my hen do next weekend :T Also, ages ago I paid the deposit for the accommodation and I don't need to pay anything else so almost like a 'free' weekend away :T
In saying that, I am going to pay for pal's trip to the spa - she's helping me loads with the wedding and hen and driving me there so think it'll be nice of me. Payday on Friday too so definitely doable.
Need to check banking to see the damage  Don't think I managed to pay off any of my o/d this month so reckon it'll still be around -£200...
Got my Kindle! Have been downloading samples of loads of books I've wanted etc and downloaded a few classics as a lot of them are free. Today I got my first paid for one - Kathy Reichs one - usually some quick reading and quite interesting so that'll entertain me on the train.
Going to the sea side for the day - eek, better run to get ready!!! Didn't realise the time with me waffling on and looking through the Kindle store!

Music picked and favours sorted so just need to do the list for the photographer and finish the forms for the registrar, get mum to sort last of the rsvps and finalise numbers/costs with the venue, get last bits and bobs for honeymoon and then sit back and relax for the next 5 wks
Not much if you say it quick!
Checked banking...about £40 more than I had last month - guess that's something. Major thing is that nothing else has been put on the credit card this month :T
:T:D :T
Payday Friday, need to start thinking about next month's budget. That's also when I can call NR for a pmt hol. £1600 still to clear.0 -
Oooh, not long til your hen weekend now, hope you have a great time!
I really want to get a kindle - maybe that can be my reward after I finally get rid of my huge piles of books. I've been reading some Kathy Reichs recently, I've been enjoying them, they are easy to get into which I like."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Definitely a good reward for you, jwil! Maybe you could use the bingo port vouchers you get towards it, or have a book sale specifically for that? I checked my nectar points and had £15 worth of amazon vouchers. And a while back I sent an old phone (not a very good one) to mopay from pigsback and ended up with more than enough for £25 amazon vouchers.
But just think, if you wait a while, you'll be able to get the "later" latest generation
It'll have a colour screen and sing and dance!
Oooh, technology! 0 -
Well, looks like I won't be spending £40 less than last month - dentist today for a filling. Lovely.
Next month should be ok - less days to spend because we are jetting off on honeymoon strangely enough. Have spending money for honeymoon separately so shouldn't need as much GBPs!
Payday on Friday - really need to sort out a wee budget.
Also, with things how they are, in November the household budget will need to be based on my salary only so we'll need to look into that. Looks like that mortgage payment holiday will come in handy after all...but maybe not going towards the cc I wanted it to. Need to decide.
Need to make a few calls for the wedding today - oooh, final prep! How exciting! :j
Will report back later - off work today :j0 -
Back to work today! Kept me out of trouble (largely!). Had a cheapo lunch from stuff I had in the fridge at work - toast and cottage cheese.
Spent some money on the way home - Niece's Christmas pressie. Need to get my crimbo list started soon. Least one person is sorted...
Amazon have changed the way their wish list works too so now you can add things to a wish list that's not from the amazon site.
OH's mum always checks that for me so works out well
Tonight I'm being a good dfw by knitting more of my kindle cover - yarn was only £1.99 and is a silk/cashmere/wool mix that was on offer. Oooh very plush.
Payday in 2 days - that'll be nice!0 -
Money doesn't look too bad this month. Still quite tight and I've still got a few things I'd like to buy - might need to do a little list to see what I 'need'... Probably nothing/not too much at all

I've still got perfume to sell, which should go for around £30.
Need to check home insurance too - sure it's up for renewal - might mean some quidco cash around christmas...
Almost finished my scarf. Quite like it even though the wool is rubbish. Think I'll do some mittens later with the wool I've got left over. Silky cashmere mix in a plum colour for only £1.99! Oh, it's the small things that keep me happy.0
