Cheap Graphics Card?

Stupid question now....
OK. At the moment, monitor is connected to VGA port on onboard. How do I switch over to new card DVI output?
Physically install card. Download and install drivers. How do I actually switch output to DVI interface on new graphics card? (Or does original VGA continue to function as well).0 -
If the new card has a dual output (DVI & VGA) then you just plug the monitor into the VGA output on the card. If not, you will need to use a DVI-VGA adapter. These are usually supplied in the box with any card that only has DVI outputs due to the number of VGA only monitors still being used.
The onboard graphics should be disabled in BIOS once you have the new card in.0 -

It has got dual output. My monitor takes either. (VGA at the moment cos thats all the onboard does).
Its better to connect new card to DVI though, yeh?0 -

All installed. Plugged in DVI and it seems to have automatically switched to DVI output on new card. Excellent.
Working well....0
