See what you have started Cheery?
What? Cheery is getting her pom poms out too?

Give me til tomorrow evening and I'll be shaking my pompoms all over town :rotfl: :rotfl:
Still going - was going to stop when Mr Daffs got in, but he's decided on a bath (I think he's only got in it because I said I'd carry on for a while if he did , and he wanted to encourage me :rotfl:) It's working though0 -
Ok, I'm really going to bed now
I've finished chapter 4 :j :j :j And have got a shiny new table of contents (without page numbers, but that's the easy bit!) :j :j :j
Am bl**dy exhausted :rotfl:
This is what tomorrow's looking like:
* Conclusions - reworking a couple of sections (couple of hours)
* Chapter 5 - create table (1 hour)
* rework abstract (30 mins)
* rework parts of introduction (1 hour)
* write email saying how I've addressed revisions (5 million hours as I will probably realise I haven't actually addressed some of them :eek: :rotfl:)
* check refs (if there's time)
* head down to library to print off conclusions
* shut eyes and email the damn thing :eek:
* probably collapse in a heap on the floor, then get up, have a cup of tea, and remind Mr Daffs that I exist :rotfl: :rotfl:
* go to bed early as getting train to work at 8am on Monday morning :rotfl:
Thanks so much for all your cups of tea and cheerleading and encouragement today :T :T It really REALLY does help to know I'm not sat here all by myself, and that there's other folk out there believing I can do it :j :j :j :j :j
(and I'll probably need the same to get me through tomorrow)
Sleep well xxx0 -
Oh, and in case you're interested, my original thesis was 72,250 words long - including all references etc - and wasn't really long enough
This one so far is 74,859, and that's not including abstract, introduction, and conclusions chapter (altogether probably another 10,000 words or so) :j :j So I must have added SOMETHING in the course of the last year! :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
Now then.
Here we are again <yawn>
Not quite bright and early, and not quite what you would call 'raring' to go, but here, and relatively positive, and not asleep, so that's a good start, yes?!
I'm hoping to soar through today, but get the impression it may be more like dragging myself through a swamp0 -
Hi Cheery
Well you're awake, that's always a good start:D
I can't imagine the relief when this is all over but just think you have finished NOW and have a lovely year to look forward to, W.I., making things , Gardening, oh and nearly forgot , Mr. Daffs:j
We are all behind you holding our collective breath:eek:0 -
Gosh greenval, don't be holding your breath waiting for me! :eek: I don't want to be responsible for that! :eek:
Having a great morning, I'm in the kitchen with Mr Daffs, we've got some cheery music on, he's pottering about doing Palace-related activities, and I'm sat at the table working. We're occasionally spotting birds out of the window and noting them down for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch - taking place this weekend! :T :T WE keep stopping for tea, and occasionally having a chat (and he's just found £440 American dollars in a tin :j :j in amongst several million dollars from the 'Bank of Toy' and 'Bank of Princess Suzy' :rotfl: :rotfl:) so that's a nice treat
Altogether, I'm having a great time, and it's SO lovely to be so cheerily positive and enjoying this final stage (although I'm still snuffling and sneezing, and I'm bl**dy exhausted, but I'll think about that later!) :j :j :j
Nearly at the end of the conclusions now :T :T Then just the abstract and introduction (won't be too complicated when I've finished the conclusions), a table, some minor admin stuff (sorting out appendices and contents etc), and then the email saying what I've done (which will be the difficult part :eek:), then I'm done! :j :j :j
I'm aiming for 4pm, suspect it'll be closer to 6, and have a sneaking suspicion that it might go up to about 10, but I'd like to be proved wrong on that one! :rotfl:0 -
Afternoon Cheery. What a lovely way to work at the kitchen table bird spotting. Good idea, aim for 4 with a view to finishing by 6. I feel quietly excited for you and all the time you are going to have to do lots of birdwatching, gardening and other exciting cheery things.
No need to pass tea today as Mr Daffs is there to do that for you, but how about a bit of manuka honey to go in the tea, I've plenty to share.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons.
