    yey for lemon curd Makeup! :j :j :j Not had that for ages :D and home made! Yum! :D

    I've just been making presents - not very exciting though - knitted mug cosies - which for some reason I thought were a great idea, but now I'm not convinced, but since they've got to be given to family on Friday, I'm not straying from the path now :rotfl:

    Well, surprisingly for having stayed up so late (a distressed friend turned into a film etc (well, not literally, of course :rotfl:)) here I am at my desk (in normal clothes, sadly, not pjs and wellies :rotfl:), ready for my first day working from home :D

    And I must say it feels pretty civilised - if I was heading into the office I'd have left home an hour and a half ago, and would still have another 45 minutes until I got there! :T

    2 hour 15 minute commute? Each way?! You're mad!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Good recovery there, lotti!

    Hi Cheery - doing that *every* day would be too much for me, I know - I did it for about six months years and years ago - but its great that you can work from home some days, certainly takes the strain off.

    Sorry your friend had such a distressing time.

    Yes, well recovered Lotti! :rotfl: :rotfl:

    I think I've explained before - it's 45 mins-1 hr 15 each way on the train, plus 45 mins walk to/from the station at both ends. I don't walk all of the walking bits - some I get the bus (although I usually walk at least 2, and sometimes 3). In the summer I cycle and take bike on the train, but that was all a bit faffy with changes of clothes etc in the wet weather. I really don't mind, the walking bits are exercise I wouldn't otherwise do (and set me up nicely/wind down nicely for the day), and on the train I either work, or PhD, or knit :D

    i have to admit the travel would be more than i was willing to do on a daily basis as well.

    I love working from home, you get more done in the same timescales as people don't interupt you. I can't do that so much where i am now as i need access to the system and i'm not allowed to access it externally :(

    You have explained before, Cheery, don't worry - no matter how pleasant the journey was, tho, I wouldn't want to do 5 days a week of that permanently. But I don't think you are, and even if you *are*, its no business of mine to say yay or nay! With your cheery approach to life, you're very well able to do it :) I'm glad you can, that job is a really good set up for you, workwise and financially, and networking too, who knows ...

    Happy working from home day - been doing the same this morning and oh it was lovely, and productive! It sounds like you're getting into the swing of full-time OK, in fact you sound really quite cheery :)

    I certainly wouldn't want to do it five days a week either KC! (or four for that matter, and three only at a push :rotfl:)

    Pancakes for lunch :D Just about to start work again - writing a report this afternoon (and negotiating boundaries with new boss via email - hmm...).

    Then I'll finish about 4.30, have a break for some food with Mr Daffs, then he's got a gig, so I'm going to settle in for 3 hours of PhD, then a friend's popping in on the way to pick someone up from the station :D Not a bad day :T
