Daffs - how annoying!!!! I hope that things get resolved satisfactorily! Cathedral thing sounds lovely!
I am back and in one piece etc etc :j
Was fabulous though, had such a great time. It happened so quickly which was good - no time to think it through. Got to the launch site and the pilot straightaway called me over, got me strapped into a harness and five mins later I was running towards the edge of a cliff ,,,,,,
Luckily we took off before I hit the edge (!) and we soared over the hills and the lake. Was amazing, at one point we were in the clouds (really!) and above the birds - amazing.
Not scary whilst up in the air - however, I suffer really badly with travel sickness and it didn't occur to me that I would suffer while up in the air! However after a bit of swooping around I felt really ill and was quite glad when the pilot said it was time to land.
I had a brilliant time though and can't quite belive I actually did it!
Anyway tomorrow we're off on an early bus to Chitwan which is the national park where you can do safari stuff, including elephant trekking and I think we'll get to see the baby elephants too!! And even give the elephants a bath!
Then friday head back to kathmandu ready for my flight home on Saturday morning.
Can't believe I'm half way through my fourth and final week already.....:(I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills
And feed my interiors addiction0 -
Wow Makeup, what an experience! :j :j :j oh dear at feeling travel sick though
Good job it didn't occur to you in advance!
CAthedral thing was lovely, absolutely beautiful. Splashed out on a cuppa and scone in the cafe next door afterwards - £4.35  Cheery though
Mr Daffs has just been having a hunt through the bookshelves for things to go on Amazon - according to prices on there we're up to £165 already! Obviously there's postage and fees and everything, and obviously some things won't sell, but just goes to show what you have hanging round the house sometimes!
Best pull our fingers out and get everything weighed and on there I say! :T
Anyway, going up to do another hour soon :T0 -
Makeup, I'm so glad you're posting, that sounds fantastic! Tho poor you being travel sick whilst paragliding
Cheery, the cathedral thing sounded wonderful - and I'm not surprised you can find that number of books. Mind you, I had one (erm, still have it) that was on for £118! It didn't sell, even tho mine was collectible and the others weren't - I recently slashed it by a third, we'll see how that goes. But good luck to you!
I've been reading some of my books :rotfl:since I've been sort of convalescent, and I've decided to let some more go - The Clan Of The Cave Bear, its a fantastic series, but I've read it to deathreading it just doesn't interest me any more. And they're fat books, so getting rid of 3 leaves about a foot of bookshelf. I'm happy

Have to agree - at least you found out now and not at the very end and it can be resolved.
Sounds like you have MG's bug - look after yourself0 -

Thanks folks
Bleurgh - feeling extraordinarily sorry for myself this afternoon
At work - which involved leaving the house at 6.20, and walking 5 miles, and over an hour on the train. Much as I love my job, sometimes it feels like a very long time away! Got to walk another 50 mins back to the station, this train's a bit shorter, but still won't be home til 8pm. Pah!
(should point out that I could get a bus, but it's £2 each way  and I just can't bring myself to! Will get the bus home from the station at the other end - that's 50p)
So a long day, and a busy one, didn't stop for proper lunch (although I DID bring pancakes - a recent revelation, and one which I'm enjoying very much! :T) Also discovered today that work provides not only tea (ordinary, earl grey, decaff), coffee, milk, but also sachets of fair trade hot chocolate! :j :j So just had one to fortify me for the journey home
Best crack on with the last ten minutes <yawn> Then I'll be back in about 14 hours when I've finally got home0 -
Hey Cheery, have you considered getting a folding bike? I have one and one of the wonderful things about it is that you can take it very easily on the train.
Firewalker0 -
*hello* hands cheery a tissue and a lemsip
*and a folding bike*Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
:money:Sleeves up folks.:money:0 -
Thanks for the tissue, but goodness me, don't give me any more folding bikes, we've already got three in this house! :rotfl:
Excellent suggestion FirewalkerBut I've actually got 2 folding bikes already
One of which is a most excellent Brompton, folds up lovely and small, and which until the last couple of weeks I've been taking to work on the train
It does save a bit of time - but I've been feeling a bit under the weather the past couple of weeks, and somehow all that getting changed/taking clothes etc (I only work 2 days a week, so can't really leave stuff there), was getting a bit much!
I actually find it more relaxing to walk - although it's about 8 miles over the day, which is a long way! And today I'm just full of cold and feeling sorry for myself, so at least I could stumble along like a zombie, would have been far worse if I'd have been cycling!
I'm sure I'll start cycling again soon, just couldn't face it this week! It's not a bad cycle - means I can leave home at 6.45, and get to work at 8.50 (rather than leaving at 6.20 and getting there at 9.10, so saves me about 45 minutes in the morning). In the evening it'd save me more, because I can leave at 5, get the early train, and be home for 7, rather than leaving at 5.30 (can't really justify leaving at 4.30 :rotfl:), getting later train, and getting back for 8...
So, we'll see, once I've got over this cold, I might just start cycling again, just can't face it with nose streaming and aching all over!
Anyway, don't have to go back in til next Wednesday now anywayJust got home, kettle's on for hot water bottle, TV's warming up for Pride and Prejudice, and I plan to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING useful AT ALL this evening
