    :rotfl: TDQ :rotfl:

Can't say much tonight, late night, long day (but cheery!), and then the 2.5 hour journey home finished me off :( Thought I was just tired, but throat now feels like I'm eating sandpaper, got home at 8pm and fell straight asleep on the sofa for 2 hours - just woke up and dragged myself to bed with the laptop, probably asleep again in a minute

Mr Daffs and his mate are being musical in the kitchen though - so there's lovely soothing harp/guitar floating up through the ceiling.. .How civilised! :D

Nice day planned tomorrow - 4 hours of PhD in the morning (of course ;)), then off to cathedral in town for a concert-type thing Mr Daffs is doing for a project he's working on with a friend, then I'm meeting a friend for a cuppa :T Hope I'm feeling a little more functional than this!

Hope you all sleep as well as I will :D

    Right then, morning all!

Slept extremely well :D:D But woke up entirely full of cold, throat still vile, nose running, bleurgh!

However, here I am up, dressed and breakfasted, and about to head into the attic to start my 4 hours. Not *quite* 7am, but not far off :D

Back later when I've done it! :T

Wow, Cheery, I'm impressed - bleurgh but still up in the attic toiling away at the PhD! Good for you. Harp and guitar music floating about sounds beautiful.

Just sneaking in for a cough and a splutter :D

It's going well actually! Had to stop briefly to adapt a bit of my bra :rotfl: and to answer the phone to someone I was meant to be meeting this afternoon (who has got a bit of a face on for one reason and another - trying not to think about that until later because I can't do anything about it!), but otherwise ok!

I'm doing 5 mins break, 15 mins work, and it's working really well, keeping me interested, and relaxed, and getting a tea cosy sewn at the same time :T :T

Best get back to it I suppose! Staying until 12.15, then I'm done for the day! :j

Thanks KC, I'm getting there, although feeling rather rotten so it's a bit of a drag! :( But still, I'm here, and I'm plodding through it, and there's more done now than there was at the beginning, so that's all good I suppose! :T

Just had an email from supervisor which has left me a bit cross and taking lots of deep breaths  Turns out my internal examiner 'didn't realise' that minor corrections (three months, thesis has passed, just need to make a couple of corrections which can be signed off by the internal) is fundamentally different to major corrections (a year, thesis hasn't passed and needs a complete reexamination). He was planning to just sign off my corrections himself, and not send to the external. Obviously this is against university procedure - which I knew. However, it transpires the examiner didn't know - goodness knows how - he's a supervisor himself, so should know anyway, he should have read the detail of the result he gave me (!), AND he's head of the research school - so oversees ALL of the PhD students in the department!

He's going to contact the external, warn him he'll get a copy of my thesis whether he wants one or not, and try to persuade him not to read the damn thing.

I suspected this is what was happening, but must say I'm rather annoyed at the lack of understanding of one who should know better!

Anyway, back to it, must stop getting distracted!

Good grief. That is **appalling** How can a supposed examiner be so careless! Did he at least apologise?

Nope KC< and is unlikely to I'd say! Ah well. (hopefully it'll make him feel more likely to let me pass though :D)

I'm already planning my 'feedback email' to the department for when I've finally finished :D

Well, I haven't quite managed 4 hours... :o But I have managed 3, which ain't too bad considering I'm full of cold, feeling rotten, and I'm also ready to leave the house at 12.15 having had lunch and washed hair etc :j :j I count that as a success! Got the whole afternoon too :D So we're getting there :T :T

    Back after the cathedral thing...

Hi Daff, that is pretty poor from the examiner but doesn't entirely surprise me. Not long till you're all sorted and free though :D

Enjoy the concert, sounds really nice :)
