Either way, the pleasure Hamish seems to take is quite sad. .

Gosh Turnbull, would that be the same pleasure you take coming on here posting repeatedly about how hpc-ers were wrong....;)

Yet somehow it's better because you don't really want prices to rise, and deep down inside you're actually really annoyed that you have been right about it all, so why, oh why, did they ban you.....

    Pot, Kettle, etc....:rotfl:

IN a bankrupt nation with millions unemployed and millions more on benefits refusing work houses prices can only get higher. Scotland is best placed as they have sooooo much industry and the financial centre is based there and of course all the worlds foreign buyers are looking to buy there. Camerons massive cuts will not affect a Scotland that lives off the South of England. Keep danceing Hamish, Scotland will be just fine for a few more months.

Either way, the pleasure Hamish seems to take is quite sad. Has a middle-aged man not got anything better to do? I can understand that a mid-life crisis of some sort is affecting him, but still.

If he wasnt such a d|ck I'd probably pity him.

so i just wasted five minutes of my life having a quick look - it seems that you've misrepresented rather than fabricated the figures.

you implied, rather than very precisely stated, that scottish prices are currently above peak by comparing apr 10 with apr 07... but the figures appear to show that scottish hooses inflated by a [slightly implausible] 11% between april 07 and july 07, then dipped, then somehow bounced back up massively in summer 08... so at £151k scottish prices are still 10% below the supposed summer 08 peak of £166k.

more generally though if you're so convinced that scottish houses are a such a sure-fire winner, why on earth do you only own two of the damned things? you should be filling your boots, laddie [and, probably, spending less time wittering about them on internet fora]...
    FACT.

It does all seem a bit obsessive, doesn't it? When I see figures which show a gain of £10-£20k in three years, it makes me laugh. I'm getting more than that in my bonus payment this year.

Show me some really impressive numbers Hamish. Don't sweat the small stuff.

Because he doesnt have the wuntuns, nor apparently the nouse to have invested in London. Which he constantly refers to when gloating about house prices, although it is utterly irrelevant to the country he actually lives in.

Thats the problem with Hamish, not successful enough to be looked up to by the people he presumes to look down on, or to be considered an equal to the people he admires.

Perhaps the thread title could be amended to be somewhat more accurate

"SOME Scottish House Prices Booming - others not so"

    Glasgow April 2007 £137,268 - April 2010 £125,522

    Dundee April 2007 £120,243 - April 2010 £117,566

    Falkirk April 2007 £122,095 - April 2010 £111,118

Here's a graph I maintain regarding Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Scotland house prices.
For me it looks like stagnation in general over the last three years.
A few months down, a few months up.
Certainly no crash, but then again, house prices did not inflate as much as seen in other parts of the UK.
