My car is poorly *sad smiley* - it's all juddery - especially bad at higher speeds. I can't get it checked until 22nd, either, so fingers crossed it doesn't fail or fall apart before then.
Careful with the car... mine did this... and I completely forget what it was, but it was very important and when I turned up at the garage going 'it feels funny' they took one look and put me in the courtesy car... so try another garage

Jojo - how long before you graduate? I've just accepted the invite on the other thread :D:p

I read the anti flylady thread with much amusement. I really don't give a monkeys what other people think, it works for me.

I found a great quote today which seems quite apt:

    Love it :T

Biro's a pig though. A lot of solvent would attack the paint, too.

Did I mention I am going out on saturday night? Cinema then a meal or a meal then cinema. We're going dutch ;) clearly a true Yorkshireman. This is NOT a criticism BTW but, having worked with a few in the past (my first employment was with a team that had transferred from somewhere called Gomersall (nr Leeds I think)) well I have long since held that the scots canny reputation has nothing on the Tykes lol

is that a cinema in Yorkshire :D Enjoy, and keep your phone on :footie: so that we can text you with updates :footie: on the game only joking :footie:

Been to the pub; going to post my list, then bed.

See you all, my Stepford friends, in the morning :j

But the more cynical side of me tells me that studying for a Science degree compared to the nieces' English Lit, Drama and Media Studies degrees is going to be used for bragging rights and giving her the voice of authority when it comes to conversations about techie things amongst her friends. :)

    Good evening all

Will probably be my last post of this week as we are away straight after work/school tomorrow. Obviously this is completely boring and non relevant to anyone else but us but I wanted to put it so there :p

Oh and no one will be in the remotest bit interested in the text I had from toots this evening saying she has had a fab day and has been paddling as it has been so warm :D

Well, didn't achieve my first HHC as planned. Got up OK, breakfasted and showered etc., then planned a zoom through from 9.30-10am.

Put two loads through the WM, then just before 9.30 a nice fire officer came and fitted two smoke alarms for me, free of charge, and the sort that last for 10yrs without changing batteries.

By the time he left it was nearly time to go and visit DH in the hospital. He was not too bad today - yesterday he was completely out of it. Found out today that he'd had a fall and bruised his hip - thank heavens, he didn't break it.

Took him a chocolate orange and a nice card, as it was our 49th anniversary today!!!! So hard to buy anything, as he doesn't really know what he wants, and plants and flowers are not allowed. But, I think he liked the "orange".

On the way back from the hospital I called in to our local pharmacy, as I couldn't find a new packet of one of my pills. Turns out they'd forgotten to include them in my last big paper bag of pharmacological delights - and I'd thought I'd lost them! Had even searched all the bins, the recycling, and even the compost bin! Spent half the afternoon on the phone to the tax office, as they have taxed my pension which they should not have done.

No time for a HHC tomorrow, as I plan to visit DH, then have lunch, then get the train up to Sheffield to stay the weekend with DD1. (the other DDs have organised a rota for hosp. visiting).
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!

poems from other cultures - DD2 really enjoyed them!

Ours had a question on a set text and then two questions one of which was where chairty should start in your community or be the wider world :T

    Evening all,

OH has informed me we may be going away for the weekend with the 3 boys.:j If we are i'll need to add packing to my list.

I'm not sure how much i'll get done tomorrow as i have a fitness assessment at a gym at 9.30am , then i need to go shopping, then lunch with my Sisters and a meeting in the evening about how we are going to stop the proposed travellers site. They're planning to flatten our fairly new nature reserves ( bunny & simpson land according to Ds2 ) to make way for 12 caravans with the option to expand.:mad::mad::mad:

It's not good news as we've just had a shiny new school built and the playing fields are about to be turned into a massive housing estate.:( The pub is going to be turned into 3 storey flats if the owner gets planning permission. The school is opposite my house and the pub is 100 yards down the road. There's also been houses being built in what was the pubs carpark ( owned by someone else ) next to my back garden that are taking forever to finish as he keeps running out of money. This used to be such a lovely little village to live in.

Sorry rant over :o i suppose i'd better sort my list and go to bed.
