Then maybe they should make this clear on their listings, that they will be a delay in posting and the reason and then buyers would probably be more understanding

When I give a dispatch time it is sometimes ignored by sellers and sometimes emails sent by eBay don't reach people's inboxes.

One other thing to be aware of is if you say you'll dispatch within 5 working days and select 2nd class eBay converts it to estimated delivery within 8 working days. There's two things to note here one is RM and some couriers work short days at the weekends so it may be much quicker even if the seller takes the full 5 days to send the item. The other is 2nd class is treated as non-priority by Royal Mail and rarely takes exactly 3 days when there isn't much post it can be next day other times it can take over a week.

Well I encountered a honest ebayer yesterday.

When I asked them where my item was, they reliped that they had forgot to post it! :rotfl:

Ah well, at least they didn't bump off one of their relatives for me.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

I hope all these dodgy sellers have their postage rating marked down as a result! I pride myself on posting stuff the same day as the person pays, unless obviously if its a sunday or when the post office is shut. And I always make sure my postage costs are not too high. Even so, I have still unfortunately had people mark me down for my postage!

If you are a seller, then I would say within a couple of days of posting.

If you are a buyer, then some of them seem to think it should be on the doorstep 10 minutes before they pay for it!

Thanks-ironically got the items today. But there was a 6 day gap in between payment and the posting of the items

I'm a seller and have any questions diverted straight to my phone so i can reply to any message almost straight away ( well not from 9.30pm and 8am), I feel it is very important to answer any questions asap.
I always send an e-mail when someone has brought something, when i have received payment and when I have dispatched the item.
Items are always sent the next day unless something drastic happens but i do list a 2 day dispatch time to cover this.
I have rheumatoid Arthritis amongst other things but i am proud of my 100% feedback and good reputation so make sure i post things straight away. I get very good feedback from my customers as well..

Sellers are obliged to show a dispatch time on their auctions, the default time is 2 days.
