New page, please read the message below

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

    What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!

What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Abuse” icon, as shown below:

    report.gif

Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the abuse team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM

It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisis

PLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT

The same miscreant posted another bit of rubbish so I clicked the spam button. To my surprise I got a message saying it could not be reported as spam - eh? What? Then I looked at the threads list and it was gone. Obviously the MSE spambusting peeps got there first - well done folks, we don't need idiots like that on here.

Bump bump. How did it go 3dogs? good news?

I am now the right side of delicious mom made tea - you know there are advantages of having a half done kitchen, good excuse to find other places to eat (quite MSE as well;):p).

Hi nicca - they used to wait until I went on holiday until they set up the new thread - almost certainly on purpose :D (that was when a particular board guide used to create the new one, I expect he'd say it was pure co-incidence each time)

Hi all, what happened to Fred? Ive only been away a couple of days and its all change.

Got back at 3AM as usuall after a trip oop north, Sorry Marley Boy I don't get over Manchester way (its tother side oof hill). Has the battle of the Roses finished yet?

Warm greetings this morning from Lady Hooray, as the old fellow is still in hospital and she's had no one to bully this weekend she thought she would kick the gardener instead.

Remembering the advice I gave Allie B on Friday I tried to imagine her walking away with her knickers tucked inside her skirt, :eek:then I decided that that image would damage my Karma to much.
Its a lot easier to imagine Lord Hooray in stockings and suspenders.
He does look like a cross between the two Ronnies as he is the hieght of Ronnie Corbet and the Girth of Ronnie Barker. (remember the weatherman sketch). Anyway I mustnt have to much of a go at him, he's still in Hospital not doing to badly but not out of the woods yet.

Any way nice to be home, I will catch up on your post's and be back soon to tell you about my weekend, It wasnt beer and skittles, I'm just glad I will be able to get a few weekends off now.

    Best wishes to all, handyman123.:)
