BL, there's really no need to be jealous, it's a really expensive way of motoring. I pay £200 a month and have nothing to show at the end of it - not even a no claims bonus cos it's on a fleet insurance (and where I live means it's been vandalised loads so there'll be a claim made when it goes back). When this lease is up I think I'll get my own old banger, it's much better value and my finances will be sorted then. And I don't have to worry about little dints from those damned walls that always jump in the way when I'm reversing...
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Ames, If I can help just ask, I recently sorted out Son Jon the Con. (he's what his name suggests) with a little motor. New engine, good interior, good tyres, long MOT and some Tax . Cost £400. It had to be a good one as one more fault and he gets another custodial. It was for sale in some blokes drive, you don't always get it right with cheap Arfur Daily Cars, but it helps if you know what to look for.

    Cheers, handy.

Ps I nearly always go Oop North for my cars, they rob you dawn Sarf.

Handy, for now I just need the reassurance of everything being done for me and it having all the features I need. I get a lot of back and joint pain, so it'd need to have power steering and comfortable seating, and I'm getting a steering wheel knob. So for now it's the best option for me, but I'm hoping things will improve in the next 2-3 years, so I can go for something a bit more basic. Plus I want to have something saved up for emergency repairs and things.

Ames, I know what you mean. Even with relatively new cars from reputable dealers there's always the chance of a bad one. Even Lady H has asked me to look into the possibility of a Motability car for Lord Hooray. I have done and he doesn't even get close to qualify.

Beware of cars that say one careful Lady owner, It may be Lady Boudicea.
Look at what she did with her chariot!:rotfl:

Or even worse, the one lady owner could have been me!

Nah, I'm not that bad. Not really.

I am looking forward to having a 'grown up' car at last, other drivers seem to treat you with a lot more respect. I've got a Citroen C3 now which is the biggest car I've had, and I'm getting a Vauxhall Insignia. I'm just glad it's got parking sensors...

    Hey Handy

I'm missing you all :). I've been busy, busy, busy, but doing what? I'm not really sure! But it's mostly been fun (it's just work that gets in the way - especially at holiday time when there's not as many folk in to take the calls and those that are are waiting to hear about their voluntary redundancy/pension packages and - rightly so - not that fussed about answering calls). Needing to buckle down to the MSE way again though or I'll be spiralling out of control in no time at all!

    What gossip have I missed?

Hi Ames, how are you? Have the Motability car prices stayed reasonable? My lease car at work (Fiesta) will jump from £70 to £170 per month when it's due for renewal! Handy, I may have to cal on your expertise!

remember what I said about the handbrake, well this was it a 1940's Austin Ruby. Don't worry I'm old but not that old, all my dad's cars were ancient.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
