Erme, just glanced through your post but I would point out that the fee for SW or WW is well spent for people who need that weekly weigh-in and support - if I could do it without I would but I like many others have tried and need that support. Also, I feel that your suggested daily diet does not seem appetising to me and also seems much too restrictive - you can't live on that forever, you have to be able to eat normal foods in normal life and I think that you are on a very low calorie count which is not for long term use. I also think that weighing twice a day is obsessive - once a week is more than enough or as Ames is planning one a month - our bodies vary too much from hour to hour to use twice daily weighing as accurate. Also the scales at slimming clubs and Boots are regularly tested unlike home scales.

Sorry if this seems harsh but you did raise issues (!!) about the way we did things, so we have the right to answer surely?

Agree 3Dogs, lots of people (me included) needed the support of a weekly meeting and it was my choice to spend the money to do that.. each to their own is what I say, what works for one doesn't work for everyone:D

Glad hubbie is feeling a bit better, abscesses are a nightmare. Poor you with the hayfever, it's a bad time at the moment and poor doglets, they really don't like it too hot.

Good morning all. Bit of a whooshing visit from me so sorry if I missed anything in scanning the thread.

Handy sorry things are difficult at the min - I agree that now you have spoken back to Lady H she probably realised how stuck she would be without you. That said maybe its time to start keeping an eye out for other opportunities?

I think structured diet plans with classes really help some people whilst others can be motivated enough by themselves. I have done WW and got on well with it, to be fair I only had a stone to lose. But I thought it was good value and really does focus on a balanced varied diet, plus even though I no longer go I still use the same methods when I want to lose a few pounds. I know others who are happy on SWrld but when I read through some info thought I would struggle with being veggie (and a bit fussy with food).

Anyway hope everyone has a good day - I best do to my meeting that started 3mins ago....

    ....yikes 6mins ago...

    Morning all.

Oh Handy, it never rains but it pours eh. I'm so sorry everything's going wrong at once for you, I hope things get better soon.

3Dogs, sorry about hubbie's mouth, would clove oil help or not?

Erme, interesting what you say about wraps, I switched to them last summer but then realised they had more calories than normal bread.

Not keen on wraps personally....but pittas are good :) But yeah I just found them on SP and enjoyed them ...:)
this is what im planning on doing too looloo - going to up the exercise and watch what im eating - ive found keeping a food diary quiet effective as it's pretty shocking in the same way a spending diary is! i have bad points mid morning and all afternoon apparently! so instead of eating rubbish im going to have a green tea or something like that to see if that helps! :)

Everything in moderation...don't be worshipping the exercise like I worship the scales (challenge me as much as you want guys about my disordered eating...Not the least offended :))....Don't be like I did once in the autumn...500 cal day and 3 mile hike to Mr. T - whoops...

But like what do I do exercise now? I exercise for fun/independance. I bike when I feel like to places...it's nice feeling the wind in your hair.... I have done C25k (till someone pointed out getting up at 5.30 am for a 7am run was doing my mental health no good and then we had SNOW so it kind of died a death)..C25k is a good into to exercise..no pressure there...Treat is as 'you time'.
A diary sounds a good idea! I am trying to cut out coffee and have been having lemon detox tea in the mornings but today I have had one coffee. Greentea is good with antioxidents isn't it? I will try that when I get a hunger pang.

Do you find that the moment you mention the word "diet" you feel hungry.

Really good to get some tips and advice from others - I've said before I am a realy yo yo dieter...... you name it I've tried it!

again sorry for clogging up fred with diet talk!

I find the time when I start thinking of quitting the cancer sticks I immediately crave one...so can relate...LOL...But then I relate everything to food and cigs..Happy; sad; whatever - it has an effect on them (generally the more intense the emotion, the less food I eat and the more I smoke)..

I know I have disordered eating guys...don't worry or feel bad about challenging me on this..I treat is as therapy :)....Today is a good food day (if the mission is on...)...today I haven't weighed and am patiently waiting for time for lunch after anti biotics...Later I will menu plan for tomorrow...try and incorporate some challlenging food (like proper cheese ) into my diet or something and go from there...Proper meals...regular snacks..I can do this :D.... And maybe make some home made bread for honey on toast on cinnamon toast as a reward each night and try and get more spiritual to get off the fixations and less mood swings and more routine :)...

Yay this week is going to be a good week..(PS. Handy just thought...there's a boarded up building in spital if you fancy squatting ;))..

    Hugs

Like I said (for some strange reason feel the need to repeat..) challenge away..if I freak I'll just avoid the board for a few days... Thanked you for this because I appreciate you care and the motivation behind the words...

I think most people act on their emotions - feeling down - spend eat drink or smoke.. I think it's a natural thing. Eating disorders are an illness and it is a need to have control over one thing in your life that you can have that control over (does that make any sense?) It's good E that you can speak openly about it and sorry if our diet talk is a bit annoying, but I find it's great to have some support of someone saying O I tired this or that - and yep I guess it is more suited to diet clulb but you know how we all are here - love having a geneal chit chat.

Hello can I ask has anyone else suddenly had interest charges from Marbles please? They are charing us a reduced interest this now means it will take up three times as long to pay them off?
