Hi, I have several TV,s all with separate Digi boxes. I have put new Aerial and 4 way booster, inline, but when it,s High pressure, I cannot get any BBC channels, or they break up.Today, not so high, still no bbc. Tuned into Emly Moor, always have been. I thought digital was supposed to be supperior to terrestrial? I can get terrestrial, and other channels, 345etc, but only problems with BBC.Any advice would be appreciated.

Bigger/better aerial required, mounted as high as possible.

Hi, Sorry i can't offer you any advice. I had the same problem. I Brought an expensive aerial and booster and was still having the same problem as you. Nobody seemed to have an answer to the problem.
In the end i gave up and signed up to cable tv.
I'm still quite angry that cable tv seemed to be my only option. I did have my aerial checked out, but no faults were found. The picture got even worse when it rained.
Digital is being pushed on to us all yet it's not up to the job. I have not had any problems since going on cable. However this was a last result. I have built in freeview and did not feel the need to have anymore useless tv channels.
I hope you find a solution. I just seemed to hit a brick wall...

Thanks for reply.I bought a big, better aerial, proper cable, recmmended by aerial company, they don,t come any bigger. It,s on a pole, outside, on the chimney, cannot go any higher. It is a bad reception area, but why BBC only beats me?The tv in the lounge now, terrestrial is snowy, digi, perfect. The one in conservatory, longer cable run accepted, terrestrial snowy, digi, no signal, same on others with shorter cable run.Rather not go cable if I can help it;Tomorrow, they will all be ok, probably.Next door has old aerial as I had, on same chimney, no problems.God help us when analogue is turned off.

I can't answer the "why only BBC" sorry. But I can say that it's also happened to us! Marley took his tiny tv & digital aerial into hospital when he was admitted recently, and it picked up all channels fine except for BBC. (Annoying as he wanted to watch the F1)

If it,s the new aerial, how come it,s ok on some sets, but not on others, and why is it only BBC, do they transmit a weaker sigal?

Hi, probably because the BBc is government owned and forcing the change to make money. It,s strange others have BBc problems, 5 is perfect. It,s ok saying get new bigger aerial, but when you do and it,s no better, what then? Get another, there are hundreds. As regards digi boxes, I,m fed up of taking them back to Argos, I have several, just out of warrantee, no good. Remote not working, or other way round.I have six tvs, all with different digi boxes because they pack up after twelve months and remotes are all different. It,s a huge scam.Emley Moor mast is the tallest, free standing structure in the country, andI,m not far from it, shouldn,t need an aerial

Probably because you are weak on one MUX which is the one the BBC is coming from. When analogue is turned off, the digital signal strength wil be greatly turned up, so this may well solve your problem.
Analogue quality deteriorates as the signal weakens, but you will still get something. Digital just goes completely at a certain point.
