  • i went from 0-60 in what felt like 5 seconds! by the time i got to the hospital i was already 8-9cms dilated  so too late for an epi, ooooh i pleaded and begged but they wouldnt give me anything.

Don't have kids myself, but that is probably my main fear. I've already told OH if we do it'll be drugs and/or and epi for me (which he's said is fine, I'll be the one doing so I can have whatever I like!) If I got there and they said I couldn't have anything.....well, after having the baby I'd have the police in to book me on an attempted murder charge, because someone in the room would definitely be getting it :D

This is what I would have hated more than anything. There is no way on earth I would have wanted to have an epidural. Just goes to show how different we all are!

haha believe me, hubby got the worst deal, not only did i have him in a headlock at one point, i also had fairly long nails and the next day hubby was showing me all his 'war wounds' haha it's probably a good idea that the staff are down the other end of the bed:D

i tell you tho, mucho respect to the ladies that do it with nothing at all with not even a peep! i just cringe at the thought of the other people who could hear me screaming lol i broke my back a week before tho so im hoping that was the cause of most of the pain and baby no3 (in a few years time) will just slip out haha :D

oh dear I must be mad........I am starting to feel broody again!:rotfl::rotfl:and I did post on here myself talking about my experience!!!

My wee one is 2.5yrs and an absolute joy so looking back now all the things really do only last a short time-even though at the time you think this is how your life is going to feel forever!!

I don't know if I am the only one, but I remember at the b/f group I used to go to they said that it will take you 2 years to feel "normal" again and i would definately say that has been the case for me!

    :o Thank you so much!

I am finding it quite hard to get back to it at the mo it must be the time of year!! My biggest motivation to keep at it is because I am ready to have another baby-would ideally like to lose another 4 stone!

    I had two.

The first time it was a total godsend because DD1 was 10lb and got stuck, so it saved me hours of pain.

Second time the anaesthetist got it wrong and I was on my back for days, but I'd still have another one.

  • The one thing you notice through this thread is people saying it has scared them or certain facts are worrying them and this long painful read might just be enough to put them off...!

if thats you (yes YOU there... you who isnt TTC yet but wants to be...or why would you be reading this when you should be doing something else ;))
then please remember that not all of this will happen to you, maybe sme of it, maybe none of it, but ALL of it? no... :D

for instance, just on the last few pages someone said about belly injections after a c section, i only had one jab i think and that was while i was still numb so it didnt bother me at all...

my catheter was put in after the epidural so i didnt feel it (infact i didnt even know she had done it) and was removed before all the feeling came back so i didnt really register that either

by the time delivery comes you honestly wont care who is looking up your chuff... as long as they are doing something useful to get the baby out!

every story is different, i had a 14 hour labour including 2 hours pushing a baby whos head was stuck, i then had an episiotomy and forceps delivery (on nowt but gas and air and YES i wear that badge with pride! lol) and the worst thing about it was 3 days later.... the stitches... oh god the stitches!
but other people dont have a problem with it, it depends if you have a ham fisted seemstress like me

2nd baby was breech and delivered by section.... it took 8 (yes EIGHT) goes to get that epidural in, most people fly through it first time....
the after pains during the first week was so bad i thought they had sown me up wrong... or left something in there, other people dont get this problem (im beginning to dislike these 'other' people :D)

if your really lucky you may not have a "horror" story to tell us, but that would be dissapointing!
ive always believed (and i think ive said before on this thread) what we go through to have these screaming bundles of joy unites us womenfolk and once you have done it you have the certificate that proves you are officially allowed to scare the bejesus out of the next pregnant first timer you see :)

:T:T:T Thank you CG, so true, so true, everybody listen to her!

My two lovely friends started talking in whispers during a meal out recently. Is it true that you poop yourself during labour? They asked me, horrified. Bless them, how do you explain to someone that in labour, you just don't care :D. The next day I sent them the link to this thread... I think they joined a convent just in case :rotfl:.

That your gums become so sensitve & toothpaste makes you projectile vomit your morning sickness so much that you give up cleaning your teeth all together & just swill the tiniest amount of listerine around your mouth & to hell with the cavities you will get.

That breast feeding hurts more than labour for the first 3 weeks. I didn't scream, cry, swear or sob during labour, I did copious amounts of all 3 during early BF.:rotfl:

That all the weight you lost during BF will pile back on within HOURS of when you stop BF.

That sex never feels quite the same after a epis....epsio.....oh, a fannyectomy. You know what I mean. And we all know that sex during the first year afterwards is non-existant right? Or is that just us?

i definitely agree with all of the above!
