I think pregnancy's best kept secret is how boring it is, waiting in anticipation for 9months only to find your bundle is 9 days late then you go to the hosp for them to tell you you're only 1cm gone and then you eventually pop and bleed for a few days, get an infection that's so bloody painful that you can't even pee then you sit up all night eating biscuts and left over pizza listening to the hoover just to make your newborn sleep...or was that just me?? haha!!

I got the shock of her life when she was informed that she had passed a bowel movement whilst in labour! I think I was the only person she told - and that was over ten years ago. A secret worth keeping I would think.

I don't think it needs to be kept a secret since it is incredibly common, particularly during first time natural labours when learning to push correctly.

Very common but not something many would want to shout from the rooftops (in fact the person I'm thinking of would be happy for it to be a secret :D)

Thank god i never pooped myself. Have to agree with the going to the toilet after birth though OMG how painfull and frightening when everything feels so loose and as if its hanging on by a thread.

PS if you only need a wee and its your first one after the birth run a shallow bath and do it in there wont sting quite so horrendously :-D

I had c sections but it's still painful cos you've had a catheter in for a while which has bruised your tube
The shallow bath idea's a good one if you can hang on till you get home I reckon:T

Sounds vile i know but midwife told me to do it in the hospital bath we had private bathrooms though so it was dissinfected when each mother left i suppose its not a very hygenic thing to do if you are sharing a bathroom :-)
