or of course you can just wee in the shower-saves a bit of time anyway since new mums sometimes have to get everything done in a hurry.

beccatt wrote:Oh my god this post is the best contraception you'll ever find! When I want kids I think I'll just adopt!
Seriously though, these things should be talked about more - can't imagine how scared I would be if I found clots or was bleeding for days and didn't know it was normal. Well done girls :T
Exactly my point, this thread is miles better than any contraceptive!!
I dont do pain and freaky bits very well... adoption here i come, instant baby and I'll keep my body exactly as it is.
OH doesn't agree with adoption, of course he wouldn't, its not him having to go through all these things!** i didn't lose my mind, i sold it on ebay **0 -
That gas and air make your voice go really deep which makes your birth partners laugh and that laughing during a contraction hurts like hell!
The day after birth when you steel yourself to feel 'down there' you always wondered what a rubber cauliflower felt like and now you know. Your lady bits are swollen to 15 times their normal size and your botty has turned inside out.
The smell of fresh blood _pale_
Afterpains after subsequent babies.
It feels funny when you walk, you feel light and a bit floaty lite for a few daysJust run, run and keep on running!0 -
Oh I haven't laughed this much in ages:D
Ordinarily, the stories of the pain, vomitting, blood, gore etc etc....would have put me off..........but I think my hormones are taking over and making me even more broody?!!........(Have you not just read the whole thread woman!!!....said to self in a bid to put off the broodiness...at least until the body is in a reasonable state inthe first place:o )0 -
My widwife wouldn't let me use tampax, even know I had had a early c-section(sideways baby) but when my dr came round to check(is it just first time mothers who get this???)I just asked and he said why not, you didn't have a vaginal delievery did you. So I was hapily using tampax.
My dr has a theory about the woman that comes round in Portsmouth, to tell you about not getting pregnant, he reckon she is the oldest woman in the NHS and the only woman you won't tell to **** ***. I nearly burst my stitches laughing that that one!!!!Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0 -
oh, and the size of the towels you have to use afterwards..you won't have seen anything this big since your mother bought you your first round of sanitary towels:rotfl:
You need to use three of them at once, just in case...
And you still try to push the pram without doing a John Wayne impersonation:D
for anyone who is pregnant or has a new baby, I spotted a baby emergency kit in Poundland today..has the snot sucker bulb thing in it along with a card for emergency contacts, scissors and stuff etc, but the snot sucker is an essential piece of kit for when baby gets its first cold, since babies can't be helped to BLOW their nose...you get the idea.$1 is a small price to pay for this little gem.Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

Oooohhh just remembered a couple more...
That when you first try to "test" your pelvic floor muscles (after the birth) by stopping a wee absolutely nothing happens... and the same at the back. EEEUUUGGGH.
Also, that you can't walk properly for a few days due to all the damage "down below", you just sort of shuffle.
Oh happy days!0 -
.....and who was it said that giving birth is the most natural thing in the world?????Oh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0

I couldn't wee. I sat on the toilet in tears after my second because I felt like I was going to explode but no wee would come out. I think it was a psychological thing but I was so desperate to go but couldn't.
I had to have 2 c sections and during my second the doctor called over the junior doctor to have a look at the bodge job the previous surgeon had done on c/s no.1. I had no idea but she had to spend an extra half an hour sorting my insides out!0 -
As I had a section, an early one, my milk didn't come through and I had to bottle feed, I really want to breast feed.
Has anybody else had trouble with their first but had success with the 2nd etc etcOh....I'm not going to lie to you......At the end of the day, when alls said and done......do you know what I mean.........TIDY0
