Chalky - glad you got back safely, despite the problems with the weather. It will be fantastic if you get to go to Dubai later this year; you'll be sad when they leave but will have a wonderful trip to look forward to.

I'll have to look on the map to see how far Torrevieja is from your place in Spain. I think it will be two or three years before we buy, though; we'll wait until things settle down with the euro, whichever way it goes!

Chalky so glad you got home ok. I follow all the posts from all of you who travel or live abroad with great interest - its my window on the world.

Pippa, sorry the weather was bad but sounds like you made the most of it.

Didnt Mrs Twins look well in the pics from her talk, not that she doesnt usually, just that she was glowing. It must be from talking about something she feels so passionate about.

Mrs Mp what a beautiful name.

F1 hope the moans settle down soon, I too have trouble with mine and I think at 53 after 8 years of menopause I deserve a break from the monthlys - Gp can't see why I get annoyed

Mioliere, where in the UK would you settle when the house is sold? I do hope it happens soon and you have your wish come true.

Oh is driving me mad but doing ok. He is frustrated really as he cannot do things but I have to admit that sometimes my patience runs out. I had a few hours off today as he went to advise a friend on some work he needs doing on his restaurant. Oh cant do the jobs anymore but he can stop him being cheated. Trouble was I had loads of running about to do and he is my driver :( I wasnt feeling 100% either but I got it done and put my feet up for a while.

Hugs to anyone I forgot to mention.xx

Ginnyknit - hugs to you and your OH. It must be very frustrating for you both. I originally come from Somerset (Weston-super-Mud!) but lived just outside Southampton in Hampshire for years, which is where the children and grandchildren are, so we will try and find somewhere near there but within easy reach of WSM. Thanks for your good wishes for selling the house. It's taking ages because the market is slow here as it is everywhere else. Hope you both have a relaxing evening.

Well we went to see the bungalow that dd1 and her partner are renovating last night. They are doing so well. Then we went to. Get something to eat in wether spoons. And I suddenly felt really unwell. Could not eat and came home. Went straight to bed and sadly had a terrible night with n upset stomach. Any details would be too much. Slept all day today and was so sad we could not go to St Ives to see my brother.what rotten luck.

Will be back tomorrow when things have settled.

  • chalky - I got that wave and could have saved you the trip to Caen and the hotel costs! We have been here so long now we know that there will be no snow plough, gritter or anyone else out on the roads.(they take the lorries off the road first for safety).....if you are fortunate there will be a farmer with a front plough who will clear your local village as he goes to buy his own bread in the morning but you can't guarantee it!
I hope you are soon well, regardless of whatever it was that caused it - I am still managing a bit of sewing in between other rotten stuff, love and cuddles to you all.

Oh, Chalky, poor you. I hope you feel better very soon. Hugs to you.

It's been a lovely sunny and mild day here today, but rain is forecast for the next few days, worse luck. Some good news is that a couple who viewed the house early this week want to come back for another look on Monday, so we are keeping everything crossed!

Hugs to all of you, especially those who are unwell or anxious. I hope you all have a relaxing evening.
