F1, you help me everyday, like everyone else here, with your support and generosity of spirit. As a carer I am allowed to earn a certain amount per week so am going to look into that and see if they will penalise me for earning, if not I will possibly look around to sell my crafty stuff online somewhere. They will not beat me. even the housing manger said it would be cruel to attempt to move house with Hubby as he is and anyway we would still have to have a 2 bedroomed place as he needs his own room and they havent got any properties available. The housing manager was quite embarrassed at having to tell me about the bedroom tax, he obviously doesnt agree with it. Anyway I mustnt rant on there are better things to talk about.
DGs is 3 next month :j and is already learning to spell and read words. Grandad bought a Winnie the Pooh rug kit today, bit of a splurge but he made them for our 2 when they were small. So thats one birthday present sorted and Im making him a patchwork quilt tomorrow ..and the next day ...etc.. But it has to be finished for April 23rd  Im sure I will do it. Its made from his outgrown shirts, his Uncles workshirts (he has bought new ones, I havent stolen them) and some gingham off a friend so wish me luck xxxClearing the junk to travel light

Good morning.. A relatively early one for this dormouse. We have newborn lambs in the field next door to us and they looked a bit chilly when I pulled back the curtains this morning.
I just want to send a great big hug to one and all and will be back later with crafty updates.Try and do a good deed every day.0 -
morning all, cold and wet weather here, think i shall be staying indoors
ginnyknit, i feel for you, i will be hit with bedroom tax and council tax too. i have a two bed flat, moved here just over a year ago, as it is sheltered housing, and i need the extra support with my health not being good. there are no one bedroom flats on the sheltered housing scheme, so if i moved i would lose the support, cant win either way.
chalky, glad the socks are keeping your feet warm, sorry to read that you've been poorly, hoping your better now.
kathy, keeping my fingers crossed that you have a buyer for the house
f1, hope the snow dosent linger long, hope the paelle was nice

hugs to everyone and i hope that everyones problems find a solution.
very damp and chilly today, spent yesterday decluttering the attic it has too much in it so it was quite satisfying to get DH to agree with that and commit to a 2/3 hour session each weekend until its better up there
have done the back and one front of Beau's cardigan hoping to get it finished this week.
hope everyones day has something in it to make them smileSPC~12 ot 124

I've just finished one sock for DH-he went into a sulk when DDs got hame made socks for Christmas. We went away with friends for the weekend and I decided not to start the second sock as the pattern is so complicated I need to concentrate all the time. So I started a cardigan for DH's niece's new baby as it's an easy pattern that I've done dozens of times before and I knew I could knit that and talk -or drink-at the same time.
Now I have to finish the cardigan and then find the motivation to start the second sock!
I also need to finish my Oxfam blanket before the festival season .
What I really need is for there to be something decent on TV as I enjoy knitting while watching it.0 -
Hi everyone, from a day in France that is like a typical April day - heavy rain, short bursts of sunshine, lots of clouds, and pretty cool. I hear that it's probably worse in the UK right now, what with snow and so on, so I hope you are all keeping warm, dry, and safe.
Chalky - I hope you are feeling better after your bout of sickness; having caught up with your French adventures on your blog, I wonder if it was the oysters that caused the upset? Hope you are managing to find all the blogs you lost! One day, when I have time, I will resurrect my blog - I haven't posted on it in months. I've probably lost it, so may have to start another one. At the moment, I am busy getting the house organised so that it's easy to pack up when we finally get a buyer!
Mrs Moneypenny - well done on tackling the loft!
I have done the update, which can be found by clicking into the name at the side of Roamin's post, then going to her 'homepage'. Jean, F1 has done some bedsocks; I have added the category to the spready but can you alphabetise if for me, please? Hope all that snow has cleared!
Well, we have the second house viewing this evening for a couple who came last week, so we are keeping just about everything crossed. I hope we find a buyer soon; it's a bit of a strain keeping the house in 'show-room condition' all the time!
I'm still using up scraps of wool on square and IS hats, and will tot them up for the next update - they all need the ends sewing in, and I don't feel that I can count them until that tiresome job is done!
Hope you are all keeping well; lots of hugs to those in need.

Hi everyone
Sorry I've not been in again since we got back but things are hectic here at the moment... we have spent most of the week in different hospitals...
Wednesday... at the QE for OH's post cancer check at the max/fax unit,
Friday... Me at the dentist for a check up result was 1-filling and 1 extraction in a week's time,
Friday afternoon... went to Mom's, she was waiting for the doctor because she suddenly went blind in the right eye, the sight came back eventually but her vision was blurred...so Doctor sent us to the eye hospital after a long wait they had a look and the doc said she'd probably had a slight stroke behind her eye, doesn't think there's any damage though... they were so busy, we got there at 5:15 and came out at 8:45
Today...it was the turn of the Dental Hospital for OH's check-up, we were hoping they'd discharge him but no, so still hoping the the radiotherapy didn't do too much damage...
got home at 1:00 then went shopping and back to Mom's with her's...by the time I had tidied things up and put stuff away it was 4:30...phew!!!
ooo While I think has anyone got an EASY sock pattern, I started some and grrrrr:mad:.... they flew across the room good though
better go I am falling asleep at the keyboard here...hope you are all well and special ((hugs)) to those with a lot on their plate at the mo
Love to all. Axx0 -
Hugs to you and yours, Pippa. Hope things ease up for you all soon.

morning all
pippa hugs to you and your family, i hope your mom is 100% now and that doesn't happen again it must have been very scary for her (and you)
ive never tried socks - i think it would be impossible due to the weird way i hold my needles - all sockknitters have my respect and admiration
kathy i hope you get a buyer very soon
Ds toe seems to be much better, so i think the ABs did the trick, problem we keep having is the little monkey keeps slipping his splint off as the novelty has worn off and its stopping him doing things, ive told him ill take him back to the hospital and ask for a cast if i catch him again. luckily he only have another week of wearing it. thank you for thinking of him.
re the attic its really going to be a wip as there is 28 years of assorted clutter and stash up there. so it wont be finished for a while but even a marathon begins with one step
ive got to go down the post office tomorrow so am hoping to get 1st consignment of hedgies off to you if thats ok chalky
hugs to all and i hope everyone is ok and the plates dont overflowSPC~12 ot 124
