Hi everyone. My apologies for being MIA again; it's a difficult time here at the moment and I've been looking for a magic wand to make everything better, but there's no such thing, is there? All my mojos have gone away (with Edna Bucket, I think), and the weather is awful - just rain, rain, and more rain. We had one good day this week when I actually got some washing dry but that was rare event!

Chalky - what a gorgeous photo of William. He's a proper boy, isn't he?

K2tog - how wonderful to have you back. Please keep posting, we've missed you.

Jean - I hope the flu goes away soon, you poor thing. The jollop I had finally got rid of my dreadful cough, thank goodness. It was keeping me and DH awake, and I ended up in the spare room for a few days so that at least he could get some sleep!

Pippa - your cruise sounds wonderful. I hope you have a brilliant time!

Shaz -hope you get your op soon. How is your Mum?

Ginnyknit - hope you and your OH are doing well.

ISOM - hope you are getting some rest.

Anyway, no definite news of anything or anyone at the moment. My BIL is in hospital having tests but the news, sadly, is not positive. My Mum has brightened up a bit, which is good. I think she's just finding it hard coming to terms with her loss of independence, so it's a big adjustment for her. She seemed to hide herself away from the staff and other residents for a while; it coincided with the lovely Matron being off work because her own mother was ill, and sadly passed away, but she is back now and has coaxed Mum back out of her shell. She is a wonderful Matron and perfect for the work she does.

DH got an infection in the same finger that was infected two years ago, so it was back to the hospital at the weekend to have the infection cut out, and then off to the pharmacy for the usual huge bag of items that were prescribed. He's back at work today with a big box of latex gloves and the promise that he will keep the finger covered. At the hospital they checked his blood to see if he was still covered by his last tetanus jab; he wasn't so they gave him one in his shoulder for immediate cover, and one in his behind for long term.

I'm still working writing the content for the new website I mentioned about the winter blues. I've had to do lots of research and have found it really interesting.

Things are very quiet re selling the house although we do have a viewing this afternoon; I just hope it stops raining! A chap we know wants to buy one of our building plots but he needs to find out how much it would cost to get the water and electricity put onto the land. It already has building permission. Once he has his figures he said he will make an offer - just hope it matches what we want!

Anyway, I'm off to make a cup of coffee before I run the hoover round.

    Hugs to you all.

Kathy, so sorry to hear your news about your BIL, such a shame. You are having a tough time but we are all thinking of you xx I made the gloves for my friend from the wool you so kindly sent and she was so pleased with them. She lives in the highlands of Scotland and has ME and doesnt get out much but is as kind as you all are. Apparently it was -7 there the other day and her gloves helped her feel comfy and she loved the colour.

Been busy clearing the loft as the landlord wants to add more insulation to our loft. DS and DD's fella helped me and we did well 75% done now. The problem was a lot of the stuff brought back nasty memories of OH's childhood so he was very down and frustrated at not doing the job himself. He is a little more chipper today though and we are off out in a minute.

Shaz, hope your Mum perks up soon, of course the weather doesnt help. You take it easy and keep cosy.

Chalky loved the pic of William, my he is growing up fast, he will be a little boy soon instead of a baby. My DGS had us laughing yesterday with his antics, he really does tease us but was giving out free kisses all day so i forgave him for being a monkey :rotfl:

Evening all just popping in I have a few bits to get sorted then I can relax, I want to watch the last episode of Downton.

Had visitors this afternoon DS2,DIL and DGS, he gave me a huge box of chocs and a birthday card and told me not to open it until my birthday, we had a great time until DGS had a nosebleed ...and it was the worst I have ever seen... he is 4.1/2 and although it is scary he was such good little boy no panic or crying he just did as his Mommy and daddy told him and was so calm. They have taken him to the doctors a few times and were told it is just a weak blood vessel and should calm down when he is older...poor little mite, he was so pale when they went home, I could have cried...I just wanted to hug him

All packing done and cases ready by the door, we are picking Jo and her new man up at 9:30 in the morning then driving down to Southampton can't board the ship until 3:00 so we will drop the cases off then go have something to eat and a wander round the shopping centre.
ooo I am looking forward to some warmth:cool:

Bit disappointed ,when I sugested I take some hooky stuff...I was frowned at:eek:... so I am just going to settle for knitting in the car and leave it in the car for the homeward journey.

Love and (((hugs))) for all, and special gentle ones for all the poorlies or with poorly rellies

So TTFN and I will see you in 2 weeks

Just popping in to thank you all for your kind thoughts, and to wish Pippa bon voyage! I hope you have the wonderful time that you and your OH deserve. Hugs to DGS, too; he sounds a very brave little boy.

Jean - hope you are feeling a lot better now.

Ginnyknit - hope OH is feeling better today.

Mrs Moneypenny - hope the caving went well, and that it wasn't too cold down there for your DS. He's a braver person than me!

Shaz - hugs to your mum; i'm glad she's recovering well.

have a lovely holiday pippa, enjoy the warmth. well done to your dgs for staying calm while he had a nosebleed. my josh used to have very bad ones and in the end they cauterised the blood vessel in his nose, a very quick and simple procedure and very effective

pippa i hope you have a really lovely time
kathy he loved it but came out very wet and muddy -he had to empty the water out of his wellys when i got them off. as you can see it was a really busy day, dropped DS2 and his friend off at matlock then had to drive to sheffield to pick up DS1 and a friend who'd been to a concert and stayed over at a hotel, then back to matlock to collect muddy DS2 and his friend, drop both friends off and come home put DS2 in a warm bath to thaw him out, do dinner, sort school stuff etc out. then in the evening there was an open mic nigt at a pub 7 miles away that DS1 waqnted to perform at picking up two more friends on the way who wanted to watch, home late dropping friends off along the way - then crawl into bed. so didnt really have a sunday missed homeland so need to catch up with that tonight while DS2 is at scouts hopefully.

need to catch up on house work today as it sild a bit over the weekend.

    Hi everyone!

Just stopping by to say that I have Musical Challenge Blanket now on SIBOL, if you go back a post. Called 'Play me a Tune'. Love it.

I shall be out delivering our Sunshine Blankets mid November when Pippa comes back from her holiday. I'm trying to wind things up now so I can do my deliveries and start afresh with new Challenges. Everyone are most welcome to join in when I start again.

Thanks everyone for your support. Oh just to say we have two Think Pink Blankets on their way to me. One from Belgium and the other has been made in the Netherlands. So I hope we can raise some good money for Breast Cancer Care.

I shall be doing a Silent Auction on the SIBOL Blog and everyone on MSE are most welcome to try their luck!!

Something I havent' done before, but these Ebay fees really bug me and without 'spare funds' so to speak I have to find other ways of selling them. They are both beautiful beautiful blankets and would make fantastic Christmas presents. Also supporting a very worthwhile cause!

Thanks everyone for everything as always.
    love Suex
