Hi
So managed to get the needles clicking yesterday. Haven't felt that well. It's one of those things when you know you're not feeling well, but you don't actually feel ill !! Anyway, sat down and caught up on some things on 4od and knitted, which was nice. Fell off to sleep, woke up, checked my phone, and there was a message from a friend, who I was supposed to be seeing that afternoon, to teach her to crochet, asking where I was. Very embarrassing :-/ I'd completely forgotten all about it.I've put it on the calender for next week now. So no excuses !!!!!
The cat came in last night with what looked like a bat wing hanging out of it :-o He's rather partial to bats :-( Anyway. I didn't hang around to see. Shut myself in my room lol. He ran back outside. Think my scream frightened him lol.
Anyway. Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all.

Nice to see you back and had to laugh at your post. You are not alone !!!
DD, little J and I went to the post office yesterday to post a parcel before going to Asda to get the weekly shop. On the way to supermarket DD`s phone rang, she went to answer it saying `wonder why K is phoning. ` Gist of conversation was, DD was supposed to be minding K & C while their mum was working late.............and she had completely forgotten :rotfl:.
Luckily we hadn`t reached the supermarket and we were just coming to a road which takes us home again so made a quick right turn and was home in 2 minutes. Just as well we went to PO first or we`d have had to abandon the trolley in the shop.
Anyway, it`s a bit dreich and cold here today. I`m sitting snuggled up in my cosy cardigan as it`s so chilly. Might have to go and put the heating on, or alternatively get active doing some of the dreaded h*******k. Hmmm.
F1 - lovely pics of family and crafty stuff. If that`s what you can do when you are lala, I`d better sign up for lala lessons right now. Might learn how to do kitchenette stitch.;)had a giggle at that one m`dear.
Pippa - sounds like a smashing shopping trip, shame about coming home to sad news though.
Kathy - belated birthday wishes to you. xx
Off to put on the kettle and switch on the heating and get on with my current hedgie. Sent off 24 to Shetland yesterday so now am starting to build up a wee stock in case anyone needs some for fundraising. Must remember to post an update this week as have done lots more.
Have a good day everyone.Fully paid up member of S.A.B.L.E.

Hi everyone; I’m back! I hope you are all keeping well. Thanks to Jean for taking care of the update! Jean, you are a star!
Pippa - sorry to hear your sad news.
Thank you for my birthday messages; I had a lovely day sharing it with DS1 who was born on my birthday many summers ago, and with DH because it was the anniversary of the day we met, many many summers ago!
We had a wonderful two weeks back in the UK. It was sad to see my Mum knowing that she doesn’t really understand why she’s now in a care home. One minute she is as bright as a button, and we wonder why she’s there, but the next minute she says or does something that makes us absolutely sure that the right decision was made. We took her to many of her favourite places and hopefully created some new memories for her.
She has been anxious for a while about getting her funeral planned, so we went along with her to the funeral parlour, and it is now all arranged. It was a sad thing to do but she was really cheerful while we were there, and was even cracking jokes about booking a one way ticket! It was good to see how contented it made her feel to know that it has all been taken care of.
The care home is lovely, and the staff are really kindly, so I am now reassured that Mum is being well looked after. She has a big room with enough space for a separate bedroom area and a separate sitting room, with plenty of room for her fridge and that all-important kettle. She has her own lovely bathroom, too. She looks really well, too, although her breathing is worse than it was the last time I saw her. Jane is taking her back to the doctors to see if they can help her.
It was wonderful seeing my sister, Jane, and her DH; his cancer has definitely spread from the liver to the lymph gland and his stomach, but he is as positive as ever. The doctors are amazed at how he is doing, so we all trying to be as positive as he is. He is a wonderful cook and we enjoyed some lovely meals.
The not-so-nice sister was around for some of the time, and I could see just how manipulative she has been, and also how patronising she is towards Mum, treating her like a three year old and not the intelligent and inspiring woman that she still is. I was able to put her in her place a few times when she tried to undermine all that Jane has done, and I reminded her that we are lucky that Jane has been there for Mum all this time, although I suspect she won’t stop her tricks. At least she has now gone back to her own home, thankfully a couple of hundred miles away, and we didn’t let her spoil our time with Mum, Jane, and Co.
The children and grandchildren are all doing really well. DS1 and his family have moved into a lovely new house much bigger than their last one. My DIL1 has struggled for years producing wonderful meals in the tiniest kitchen I have ever seen. She now has a huge luxury one and looks as if she can’t quite believe it. The garden has a sunken trampoline which was a lot of fun, if exhausting!
While I was in the UK I bought a much-needed laptop (I keep waiting for my trusty old desktop to expire!), a new keyboard and mouse for the desktop because I had worn the old ones out, and a new mobile phone because my old one was on its way out. We also got the catalytic converter replaced on the car saving €900 by having it done in the UK and not here in France. We also came back with hundreds of good old British teabags and other essentials, so it is now time to work and save up some more money!
Elaine – I sort of took your advice and bought an Acer Aspire but not the version you have. The graphics were not so important because we don’t play games. I bought the V3 517 which has 6GB RAM and a 15.6” screen, and I am really pleased with it, so thanks for your help. I would not have known enough about RAM and all that if you hadn’t told me!
Anyway, I am up to my neck in laundry and have come back with a horrid cold, so I’m not firing on all cylinders at the moment, but I do have some wonderful memories – doing Wii Fit with the older grandchildren and playing very competitive table tennis with them in their new house, and watching the two little ones dancing and singing along to Katy Perry in their birthday suits, which is making me smile as I type!
Will catch up on the last two weeks of the thread and call in later.

Glad you got fixed up with a lappy - but I wasn`t the one who recommended it - like you I don`t have much of a clue about RAMs etc. :rotfl:Know what wooly ones do
More like to have been the techy whizz kid in France who gave you the info.
Pleased you enjoyed your holliers over here and are happy with mum`s new abode. Good for you for giving the nasty one some stick :T. Shame bil isn`t doing too well though.
Did you visit your favourite wool shop when you were here and how many balls of wool did you manage to squeeze in among the teabags ? Got to have enough to keep you going through the long wintery days.
Oops, just noticed the time, better go and pick up DS.

Hi everyone-- Lots of love tucked in xx
Kathy -- Lovely to read of all your news. Lots so lovely but was so sorry to read of DBIL.
Jean-- Full steam ahead!
sALOME-- Hope you feel better soon
PSSO -- Scotland sounds freezing. My SIL lives in Aberdeen and also says how cold it is-- I would be too much of a southern softie I think!
Well do you want to hear the good news or the good news ---- We are really happy today as DD2 ( who has just gone to France looking for job on Luxury yachts ) got A JOB!!!! She had an interview this morning by phone and had to collect a heap of uniform this afternoon-- caps,to shorts,to Tshirts even flesh coloured bras!!All paid and she has her flight to Turkey on Monday paid. The yacht she is joining is berthed in Bodrum. It is a 6.5 million pound 45 metre luxury yacht! She is joining the stewardess section. First they are travelling around Turkey, then Italy then they are crossing the Atlantic to America and then after sailing around America they are sailing to South America to the Amazon basin! Wow! She is so excited as the pay is excellent and I think tax free because she is off shore and of course everything is included whilst she is onboard. So I think if all goes well it might be a while until we see her!!! I have suggested that if the owners need any crochet blankets I could sit on the top deck and hook away quietly!!!!
The other good news is William has his first tooth. We are off to Bideford tomorrow to see them all because it is DS's birthday on Saturday. Chocolate cake made!
I am finishing off all my WIP'S. The answer I have found to that much hated half finished woolly thing languishing at the back of the cupboard which glowers at you every time you open the door is to very quickly rip it back and use it to edge your latest charity Lappy. I have just done that very thing and it was wonderful.
Well what a long post but love to all MIA'S XXXTry and do a good deed every day.0 -
Mioliere, so glad you could put your mind at rest by visiting your Mum, sounds like your sister is doing a splendid job, glad the ratty one has gone home. It really does sound like the home by which all others should be run. Soryy about your BIL he sounds a nice man and very courageous.
Chalky congratulations on DD2's job, sounds exciting. So good when someone gets a job that they will love. Its probably a lot of work, but getting paid is a bonus with all that lovely travel.
Psso gosh your hedgie production line is busy, its great that we can make simple things to help others.
Ive been finishing things tonight, done 9 hearts and stocking for Bonnie Babies for Christmas, I put a picture up to show what I had made from ikea fleece and they loved them so offered some for Christmas sales. 6 octopus's done so far for Mrs MP and a bit more of the latest SIBOL blankie. Quite a productive day.
OH not feeling himself today, we went to see my mum and he really wasnt with it at all. Got a quiet day tomorrow so am going to leave him to sleep as long as possible. I have a day of sewing planned so he may well stay in bed when he hears the sewing machine :rotfl:Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan0
